i read everyone reply here and i agree with most of them. My opinion would be that yeah a girl should offer at least BUT at the end guy should insist on paying and he SHOULD pay…y? b/c if guy is the one who asked a girl out on a date then i think he should be the willing to pay for the rest of the night.

Hmm. A full fledge dinner on the first date is not a good idea.
To alleviate nervousness and first date anxiety they should eat something light and fun …umm …like cotton candy or ice-cream.
I believe a guy worth dating (i.e. a gentleman) should be more than happy to take care of it.
