^ What do you think, you live in the city? when mqm is involved in any such activity even the main stream media is scared to name the culprits. They are saying firing started between the two groups, which two groups? When it was PAC they were saying exclusively that PAC is attacking the police.
Exactly.
Karachi will never have peace as long as the MQM criminals are running around.
MQM cannot openly say they want division of sindh so they created a front organization in the from of mohajir sooba tehreek to do just that. They cant tolerate haqiqi and ST in their areas. But when it comes to mohajir sooba tehreek, they are silent.
About the peaceful intentions of Muhabbat e Sindh people, here is what they were saying a few days back before this rally:
May 20, 2012 Mohajir Suba: Nationalists warn government of bloodshed – The Express Tribune
**The hue and cry about the Mohajir Suba took a new but ugly turn on Saturday when Sindh’s nationalist parties hit out hard at the protagonists of the ‘clandestine’ movement and warned its leaders as well as the Sindh government of serious consequences if any attempt was made to divide the province or to carve out another province out of it.
** “We did not take any action fearing bloodshed but enough is enough. We are peaceful people but know how to fight for our motherland,” said Ameer Bhanbhro.
They announced a rally outside the KPC on May 28 against Mohajir Suba demand.
If the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) government doesn’t do it then our workers will do it in every city from Karachi to Larkana. And, whatever happens as a consequence these two parties would be responsible,” said Haider Shahani, the STPP’s vice president
Shahani warned the PPP government of bloodshed in the province if it failed to take immediate action to defeat the designs for the division of Sindh.
^^ The similar things were said by people attending rally to demand Muhajir sooba. People clearly said that there will be bloodshed if people resist this tehreek of muhajir sooba. Some also said that they sacrificed when Pakistan was created and they now won't hesitate to sacrifice for Muhajir province.
Watch Asma Sherazi's program in Korangi (if i am not wrong). most of them were MQM voters and it was quite clear that MQM is quietly running this campaign even if they aren't openly supporting it. It doesn't mean Sindh nationalists are all peaceful human beings, they have extremists elements as well and they could have also held this rally in more peaceful manner.
I hold PPP responsible for all this mess because they fully knew that law and order situation is at it's worst and it wasn't really the best time to announce new provinces. There was absolutely no other motive but to gain political benefits in Southern Punjab. What we are seeing in karachi today could also happen in Hazara and Balochistan as well, then there will be a demand for Bahawalpur seperated from South Punjab so PPP has put us in BIG mess here.
^ We all know some Urdu speaking will go the same length as those Sindhi nationalists. There is no news in what you just said above. Actually those Urdu speakers did show their colors when they fired on the rally.
All I was showing in the earlier post was the intentions of people who were part of that Muhabbat rally.
But again, to put the blame on MQM without any proofs is going too far.
Absolutely. PPP wanted to have the cake and eat it too. The Punjab branch of PPP wanted a separate province and the Sindh branch had to agree with it, otherwise the Punjab branch would have parted ways. But ultimately it would open the can of worms and then end won't be in sight.
In a way ANP is responsible for it too. They changed the name to make it a Pakhtoon specific province and thus alienated Hazara's hindko speakers. Hazara's demand for separate province raised after the change in name of the province.
The demand for the province is justified but at-least they shouldn't name it ' Mohajir Soba ' . They should stick to the original plan and call it ' Jinnah PuuR '
Another sad day in the history of Sindh. Karachi is on fire again :(
Indeed it is..
It's a pity that both major political parties of Sindh who are pretty successful in getting votes in Sindh on the basis of ethnicities want to ensure that people of Sindh continue to give vote on these basis instead of their performance and governance. By dividing the people and instigating hatred among two main stream ethnicities living in sindh these parties are ensuring that they will come back to the parliament in big numbers from sindh (and form alliance of loot-mar again after reaching the parliament). People of Sindh should realize that all the ethnicities of sindh have to coexist.. it's up to the people to ensure that these evil designs are not successful!!!!
Sindhi topi drama-mohajir quota victim-pushtun/taliban killers-takht e lahore-punjabi army- are all the phrases coined to fool the people of Sindh in particular and Pakistan in general.
Shame on all the political stake holders in Sindh.. they are doing politics on people's blood to safe guard their political fiefdoms..

Continue the politics of ethnics and language. Hoor choopo.

One thing I fail to understand is that how come mqm automatically equates with Urdu speaking mohajers, there are many Urdu speakers who have been affected by the infighting between the two main groups. Who ever has committed the crime yesterday needs to be unmasked and punished, these faceless people have made the people of the city a hostage.

Although I support new provinces throughout the country for better administration but first of all I don't think that the time is rife for that, economy is bad, more than 50% of the country is a war zone. The way PPP has gone about in dividing Punjab (with chants of freeing the people from takht e Lahore, and victimization of seraiki prime minister) has dangerous vibes, and it could cause blood shed in Punjab as well. On the other side we have some unknown people conducting rallies and wall chalking slogans in favour of a south Sindh province. In both cases the procedure being adopted for dividing the provinces is very dangerous, if some one wants to divide the provinces they need to contact all the stake holders and divide them once properly otherwise we will have a civil war instead of good governance which should come out a result of smaller provinces.

Your theory does not make sense, simply because MQM terrorists have been killing innocent people in the nameof 'Jinnahpur', long before this govt was in power.
