Another way of testing the degree of knowledge is the degree of diffusing knowledge.

o Muslim World is failing to diffuse knowledge

You do not understand. All the inventions and discoveries were made by the Arabs. The jewish just copied them. And these so called "Nobel Prizes are given to the jews so that they can claim that they are the best in the world.

Of the 3 Muslims who won the noble, you can remove 1 (Abdus Salam), who as an Ahmadi would be considered a Kafir… :rolleyes:
So technically speaking, from the prespective of most Muslims, only 2 Muslims have ever won the noble.
According to the Jewish website, there were 6 in total, which again, would only be 5 from the Muslim prespective.

This unfortunately is one of the drawbacks of a madrasa education ..... one is not exposed to the whole body of scientific study ..... if you had been exposed to this you would have realized the number of jews who have contributed to the fields of medicine, physics and economics, to name a few, and had won the nobel prize. There have been two muslim scientists (actaully one as technically A Salam is not a muslim) who have won a nobel prize in the field of sciences, though about four have won the nobel award for literature and peace !!!!!!!

You have been given an oppotunity to gain knowledge through the internet and you should utililize this tool and remove your confusion !!!!!

Right on the money. Quite right.

Not just Madrassah, but almost all of the universities in the developing world cannot produce original scientific work. The only thing they do is prepare the technicians.

Some of these technicians end up producing original scientific work only when they are exposed to "work AND culture" of the West.

Thus 2 billion+ Indians and Chinese can only serve as help desk techs, because their local culture is incapable of producing original work especially in science.

Anyone who tries to figure out the lack of scientific development purely on the basis of religion falls flat because the culture of innovation plays a much much bigger part (compared to a specific religion).

That's why the threat starter was wrong to quote a list based on Jews vs. Muslims.

Because Jews from African culture or from the Middle Eastern culture have not done much either.

Thus the thread starter could have taken examples of Indians (in India) and Chinese (in China) and reached the same conclusion that Indians and Chinese are zero compared to the Jews.

And if you pick up the Christians of Africa, they too will fare poorly in a "dimwit" comparison with Jews.

p.s. Another issue with the thread starter is that there is no real "Muslim Ummah". Combining a whole bunch of dimwit countries purely based on their majority religion is absurd in today's world.

Obviously you also suffer from the same lack of knowledge .... it is never too late to use modern tools for gaining knowledge .....

Head to head 2 billion Indian and Chinese "cultures" have produced 6 nobel prize winners (besides literature and peace) to 2 muslim background scientists from 2 billion muslim ummah .

(PS I have only included people who were born and did their early education in India or China .... for muslims it is everyone)

That all of them got their awards for research work done in west ... points to the development in those countries.

As for India and China ... the progress made in last 5 years has been inceredible but tangible results will only be seen in coming years. But is there hope for these countries ..... as they are growing .... what about the others !!

Religion has a very important part to play in culture ......

Isalm was at the forefront of scientific knowledge in the world in its heydays ... unfortunately in present times there are forces which want to pull it in the other direction.

B you have a habit of jumping the gun ... my comments on madrassa was for CM who was "ignorant" as to why the jews had got the nobel prize .... so my advice to him was to read beyond what they taught him in a madrassa .... and then YOU "took off" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI the original post smacks of anti-Semitism. The reality of scientific work in the last 300 years is that majority of achievements are due to thinkers / philosophers / scientists who lived in European (read Christian if you have to bring in the religion although it is wrong) culture.

No other culture (or religion) can match that awesome work. None! Indian, Chinese, (Asians in general), and Africans are all practically zero compared to European scientific achievements. And do not even talk about Middle Eastern tribals. There is no hope for them.

p.s. On a different note, Middle Eastern areas now known for being "wellspring" of Islamic thought include: Egypt, Saudi, Yemen, and UAE. These scientifically "poor" folks have not produced any significant work in the last 1000 years (if not more).

Most of the so-called Islamic achievements in science and engineering came from Central Asian, Indian, and South European cultures. And those too happened long long time ago as in 5-7 HUNDRED years ago. Exception being the engineering wonders of Mogul emperors.

Tottaly disagree with this ..... If you are looking at just the period of last 300 years ... then yes contribution of west has overshadowed rest of the world. But you cannot overlook the contribution's from India, China or the Islamic world !!!!!

The western thought and scientific knowledge is on a bedrock of knowledge from "east" ...... It is now, slowly, even the western scientists are acknowledging this contribution. The "east" had a vast scientific knowledge at a time when most of the "western" world was "living on trees".

So now when the level playing field is there .... the west will not have the huge advantage it had previously and the "east" will catch up!!!!!

(Infact i like to remind my "christian" friends that Christianity was accepted in India when they were feeding christians to the lions in Rome !!!!!!!)
