I think Med911 and Faris Udeen are saying the same thing, journey is different but destination is same.
We all want a peaceful Pakistan. And the implementation of true Islam will make Pakistan peaceful and prosperous.
The true Islam is the one that Rasool Allah (saw) brought, not some of the envious Arabs who accepted Islam but internally they wanted to destroy and con-volute it's message. They are the same people who tortured Rasool Allah in his life, and now are creating problems for all true Muslims, and the rest of the world in the grand scheme of things.

With all due respect however, I have to say that this search for the true Islam seems like an endeavor thats bound to fail.
There are simply too many diverging oppinions on Islam, all of whom think they have the answer and are willing to die or kill for it. Pakistan has been on this path towards finding the true Islam from its birth, and all its done is created confusion.
While I would love for the real Islam to be practiced in Pakistan, I think its simply to idealistic.
I simply want a Pakistan thats pragmatic. Make laws that make sense. Is that asking to much?
Some people think that good governance will flow once we are more Islamic. I think the opposite is also true. Our Islamic credentials can flow out of good governance aswell.
I do appreciate the sentiment ofcourse. We should all endeavor to reach the same goal regardless of our path. Thats what unites us.

If interpretation of Islam is to kill people who express their opinion, then God save us. People who think implementation of true Islam will make our country peaceful will be the first ones to surrender themselves to the fake Islamist who will dominate through violence and extremism. These champions of true Islam can only debate in these secular educated forums. Once they are confronted with the extremist they will be the first ones to run away from the country like Prof. Ghamidi.
Governor Taseer has given his life for what he stood for instead of running away. He took these extremist head on without fear. He has died a hero's death.

Why can't you tell us the Quranic verse which tells us to kill people who insult Prophet PBUH?

Allah clearly states in Quran verse 5:32
“…if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.”
So we have come to an extent where we are justifying a murder? that killing a human being is okay? We have clearly forgotten what Islam teaches us???tolerance & patience?Who are we to decide who is gonna live or die?? They are not even close to understand whats the true message of Islam, let alone saying that they Love Prophet Muhammad saw. True munafiq!! They are like cancer which has spread into our homeland!! If Our so called Leaders and Govt stayed QUIET NOW they will keep on justifying every brutal act!! while our homeland will be burning around us if ONLY,we all get UNITED and stand up for the TRUTH We Can definetly bring our country out of the crises, we can build a stronger Pakistan.
