I guess those people (i.e every religious scholar of each era) are/were passimist people. They think that things cannont go worse then this so this must be the end.
Human biengs, in general, are at least proving those scholars wrong by stooping lower and lower as the time goes by.

can sawab e jarriya get so big that a person's sins are overshadowed by them. I mean lets say someone lived a completely wicked life, and just did one good deed..and that good deed just had some impact that multiplied over time and just had a really profound positive impact on people ... is it possible that his one action which did not really produce much good in his lifetime or even soon afterwards got him so much sawaab that it overtook all his sins?

maybe.. but what is true is that (lil off topic): if you were wronged in the world by another muslim and did not receive any compensation, you can take the other person(s) good deeds on the day of judgement. if the other person was a 5-time-praying modest muslim, and his good deeds run out by having to give to you, he will be thrown in hell, and you (who was a not so good muslim) will be admitted in to heaven (isA) ..that is if all of your net good deeds are greater than your sins.

could there be a hidden meaning behind the sun rising from the west? According to IslamiCity(.com), the sun is already rising from the west. Metaphorically speaking, it makes the most sense.
