Re: driving.
Passed at 20
I took over a year because I kept taking breaks every couple of months for a couple of months! Took a lot of lessons though because I just wanted to keep putting off the test :halo: Passed in 2nd attempt.
Re: driving.
passed my second time. Only cuz my examiner second time was too busy chewing pan to pay attention to me. :/ Officially the worlds most wreckless driver
Re: driving.
Did not take any lesson, neither there (Pakistan), nor here (US/Canada)
Wife learned it here. She took 10 lessons and needed 2 road tests to get her licence.
Now she gives me lesson every-time I am driving. She is like
“itni jalde kia hai, why are you tail getting him?”
“you did not come to complete stop on stop sign” (at 3am jub na koi aadam na aadamzaad)
“Yellow light means, STOP IF YOU CAN SAFELY and not SPEEDUP and GO IF YOU CAN”
“Kids were on the sidewalk waiting to cross the road. Ager rasta dai daitey tu koi qayamat nahi aajatee”

Re: driving.
^I'm clueless and confused here. I mean why help a dog? It's not even a human. Moreover.....you know a dog's place in Islam. Tsk tsk.
Cause I hit her.
Re: driving.
Still didn't get what you were saying :(. No clue, no whatsoever. Is it a phrase native to where you live?
In amreeka they sometimes use redundant redundancy and make khichdi out of certain expressions. Instead of saying traveling at high rate OR high speed, they sometimes say traveling at a high rate of speed. Which clearly is a misuse. Ab aaya samajh mein?
Re: driving.
You got your answer. High rate of speed is high acceleration. But when people just want to say someone is traveling fast, they should say high speed - not high rate of speed. But they incorrectly use high rate of speed.
As for your hunger - I though you go to chachi’s house for garma-garam samosas.
Re: driving.
Got that! Amreekion ko to har cheez ko bigarnay ki aadat hay. And my khala did bring me samosa's yesterday, for iftari(really, not joking). Yummmm...
Guess the low blood sugar was messing with my brain, hah.
Re: driving.
Good!
Re: driving.
Took me 12 years! Yes it did.
Had my first lesson on my 17th birthday, only took 10 lessons and then all we did was play with laminated sheets of roundabouts and little toy cars, he rarely let me drive. Didn't start again till I was 19 and living in London, lasted 2 lessons as I nearly killed a cat. Started again at 21, lasted 5 lessons as instructor tired to feed me grapes duing a dual carriagway lesson. Started again at 23, only lasted 7 lessons this time round, cant really say why. Started again at 26, had 1 lesson and decided money for shoes was more important. Started again at 29, lasted 7 months, passed 3rd time last August.
I hate driving. I've already managed to spend more on car repairs (after driving into another car and a pole) than I have on the car and insurance.
And right now I have to drive to the post office. UFF!
Re: driving.
lol same here , I started last year ,took about 15 lessons , stopped. Now I got my theory test booked next week. Once I pass my theory , 'll get back to my practical lessons and get done with it ASAP. It’s like a big thing to get done, headache. ![]()
Re: driving.
I took about 9 lessons from an instructor. Practiced parallel and reverse parking with my siblings and that did it!
Re: driving.
I love cheesecake too.
Re: driving.
why its so hard to learn driving in UK?
Re: driving.
If you saw one of Chevy Chase movies - a family outing to London- it would be obvious. Poor guy was stuck in a roundabout well into the night - could not get out.
Re: driving.
^ Because the British be crazy? Because of their uber-small roads? Or maybe they're all confused because they drive on the wrong side of the road.

Easy and hard are subjective terms. What is easy for one person can be hard for the next person. No one on here will be able to say whether you will find it hard or easy. Overall, it is hard for some beginners because they are learners that time and you have to learn it on manual car. Later, it becomes all about practicing. Do you have to pass theory test there as well? Also, I have heard ladies aren't allowed to drive manual car in Dubai, is that true?

oh that explains why- I too started learning with a manual car and hated every bit of it. Here in US, we have to pass a written exam before taking the road test, but its nothing too difficult. I dont know about Dubai.. wont be too surprised if its true tho.
