That's just wrong, u probably don't deserve her then! It's good to be attracted to the person physically also, IMO. I think it's neither common amongst asians, nor a good idea. I just don't like the concept of a pre-nup at all. So, i say ditch her. Her parents will have to take some risks when finding a rishta. Everyone needs to go into it with trust, or move on to the next candidate. Good luck.

I dont find anything wrong in the haq meher.. thats wht ur sposed to give her, n neither you nor her family is allowed to touch it.
I find the whole rishta process to be uhm.. superficial for lack of a better word. its all about credentials, ur looks/job/money/education.. then comes personality n stuff, n for most ppl who place more importance on “credentials” dont usually care about personality 
U can start meeting grls on your own like you said, but one bit of advice if u dont mind 
when you meet that person, morel ikely than not it’ll be out of chance..

I think western desi's have totally lost the whole conception of "marriage". This sounds more like a business deal as appose to two people sharing their lives together; which should should be a spiritual experiecne - not come with so many (IF ANY) "terms & conditions".... its totally disgusting. The whole idea of a prenup is to secure oneself in the event of divorce. How can parents "prepare" their daughter for divorce before the wedding has even happened?!?!?! They should be praying to Allah to give their kids a long happy life together. Islamically, divorce should be avoided as much as possible... lekin agar shadi sey pehlay ye haal hai tho shadi ke baad kya hoga...???

don't really agree with the concept of pre-nups...but i do think that her parents are right in securing ur agreement that any property she has prior to the marriage will remain hers...after all its her property (whether she's acquired it herself or her parents have bought it for her) and should remain hers.
In fact, islam even states that any property that the wife has prior to the marriage should remain hers solely after the marriage too, unless she wishes to give it to her husband.

So, you are saying, islamically speaking, she is right in wanting to secure any property she owned prior to marriage?
Hmm, i wonder how she would feel if i put in an amendment, to protect my interest in the event of a divorce, granting me custody of our children (boy at seven and girl at puberty) per Shariah? I have a nagging feeling she would never agree.

in answer to ur reply, in regards to any children u would have had or anybody in the same position, i would always say that the childrens interest should be first priority regardless of the parents feud - children should be allowed to have a relationship with both parents.
But, i do agree by what i said...any property she had prior to marriage should remain hers. From a personal view, i wouldn't let any man get his hands on my fathers millions, he's worked hard for it and for his children. So, in truth any man who married me would have no claim to any property my father gave me...why should he?

Hey Dope, while I don't think there's anything wrong with Prenups, this prenup is insulting and the family seems too pre-occupied with money. Dope, brother, run like the wind. This is not the way to embark on a new life together. This is insulting to you and your parents. If this is an arranged rishta, get out now! If you're in love with this broad, you need to decide whether you are willing to live under her parents' dictatorship for the rest of your life.

Why is it insulting? I don't think that was there intention, but rather they are providing their daughter with security and want to protect it for her. Why is it that they are being attacked. Dope should only be marrying her for hereself, not for any money or security she would bring to the marriage. (Yet, he's not been attacked).

This is what i think you should do....
I would say dump the girl. Someone who wants to build a relationship based on a stupid piece of paper which holds a lot of value- They are basically looking for ghar jamaai. so what if you arent living at her father's house but i am sure later on they would want to buy the house and give it their daughter and you will be forced to stay there.
so why is she marrying you? to have kids halaal way- There is nothing else she likes about you.
Instead of going through misery each and every day - end it.
