how many have been sentenced to death penalty? do you realize pakistan has jailed more people for blasphemy than most other countries? its strange how you fail to condemn violence against alleged blasphemers and continue to show support for such laws

Please don’t pull a Bush. I didn’t say I was in favor of the law. My entire point was that do you establish a consistent practice with your snide judgement when it applies to Western Liberal democracies when they have the same laws in play.

By and large you dislike the law, but you do make excuses for the European versions.

Do you really believe that your god or religion needs blasphemy laws to protect them? IMO it shows a lack of confidence in your faith to have such trivial laws when you believe that your religion is divine and your god is the ALL MIGHTY. Why does Pakistan need blasphemy laws while other Muslim majority countries don’t?

yes because we should justify our laws based on what happens in other countries. This law isn’t just flawed, it’s ridiculous. The point is to acknowledge that we have such laws in our country that need to be scraped. As I mentioned earlier, most laws in Pakistan do not effect the privileged upper and middle class but rather the improvised majority such as the Christian mother who is facing the death penalty because of the alleged blasphemy she committed.

finding flaws in others makes our own go away? all blasphemy laws are ridiculous whether it protects the bible or quran. human rights should be more valuable over human beliefs.

Yes because as a Pakistani on a Pakistani forum I should be talking about Egypt. Oh yeah and mere mention of the mediocrity in my country means I’m splashing trash on Pakistan?
