Re: Does God Exist?
so eventually after hundreds of years would all religions fade away and just a belief in the concept of God be realized by all people. I don't think the world would go towards atheism
no more riots and killings over religion.

Definitely. We should make sure of that. after all, irreligion is growing (loads) faster than any other religion.
Re: Does God Exist?
Two jokes about existence of God.
1. Scientists invented a computer which would answer any question and could do anything. So the first obvious question they asked was:
Does God exists ?
Computer replied : "Now He does."
So the scientists got scared and one went ahead to switch the computer off. The moment he took a step tow switch the computer off a bolt of lightening erupted from computer and burned that scientist to ashes.

Re: Does God Exist?
since the word "Allah" means God why do Muslims say Allah, why don't you guys just say God?
Re: Does God Exist?
I don't think Allah is one word - I read somewhere it's made up of two parts but forgot what the parts meant.

because God is in english.
Re: Does God Exist?

Re: Does God Exist?
What is the proof that God exists ?
Source
Note: “Proving” God exists is really not our purpose. We are only interested in providing clear statements based on facts and logic and then allow the individual decide for themselves who they would like to believe. There have always been people who believed in the existence of God and there have always been those who have denied in His existence. We must realize there are those who will never believe no matter how much proof or evidence we produce. The reason is some people don’t want to believe in a Creator or Sustainer. They would not like to consider one day they will have to answer for their actions and for their refusal to acknowledge their Benefactor to whom they owe their very existence. We come to know it is not so much a matter of us trying to convey our beliefs as it is for them to set aside preconceived prejudices against proper belief. Meaning: this is really a matter of guidance from Above. If they refuse even with evident proofs in front of them, this is not between us and them; it is between them and their Creator. Again, it is not our job to “prove” anything to anyone. We only need to present the facts in truth and allow the listener to make up their own mind.
We just begin with simple logic. When something is right in front of our eyes it is difficult to deny it, right? Asking rhetorical questions can be very helpful in presenting our case. Begin by asking the question; “Can you prove you exist?” Yes, of course you can. You merely use your senses to determine what you can see, hear, feel, smell, taste and you have emotions as well. All of this is a part of your existence. But this is not how we perceive God in Islam. We can look to the things He has created and the way He cares for things and sustains us, to know there is no doubt of His existence.
One approach is to suggest simple yet convincing experiments anyone could comprehend. For instance, say to someone, “Consider this the next time you are looking up at the moon or the stars on a clear night; could you drop a drinking glass on the sidewalk and expect it would hit the ground and on impact it would not shatter, but it would divide up into little small drinking glasses, with iced tea in them? Of course not.”
Another example is have them consider what might happen if a tornado came through a junkyard and tore through the old cars; would it leave behind a nice new Mercedes with the engine running and no parts left around? Naturally not.
Or ask someone to consider what it would be like if someone told us about a fast food restaurant operating itself without any people there? The food just cooks itself, files from the kitchen to the table and then when we are done, the dishes jump back the kitchen to wash themselves. This is too crazy for anyone to even think about.
After reflecting on all of the above, how could we look to the universe above us through a telescope or observe the molecules in a microscope and then think all of this came about as a result of a “big bang” or some “accident?”

Have you heard any scientist say it was an accident?

AlhamdoLillah Allah yeh, Ap ko Nazar nahee ata tu "Fiqer" ka ilaj karao...
Pata hey kia, thora Ilam kafii khternaak hota hey...
Re: Does God Exist?
^ what does that mean? pls translate to english/
Also mod - how come you have moved this thread out of religion? God has nothing to do with religion? Good if that was your reasoning

depends who you talk to. I write God.
Re: Does God Exist?
I think this thread has reached its useful limit. I will say this though to those who think they are not part of something bigger and not controlled by a higher power such as God.
Consider where we are in terms of our position in the universe. Consider how much exponential microscopic power is needed to view an atom in its true solitary existence. An atoms world or space is insignificant when compared to the greater structures they are part off. We are at at a much more minute and insignificant level in the universe that we are part of. Scientists know there are stars that are millions of light years away. What this indicates is that we are but an atom in this whole universe. So insignificant, and given the vast enormity of this universe its ludicrous to think that it is not part of something bigger and higher in calling considering our own relative existence compared with our constituent existents. So if you think God just lurks somewhere in this atomic existence of ours in this universe then you should realize how narrow your view is in the greater scheme of things when you think God should be confined to this little dot in the universe and be perceivable through your physical senses only. You cannot even perceive what you are made of without the aid beyond our physical senses. You cannot perceive outside of what you are confined in either and God is inside and outside of this simplistic perception, which is why as long as you rely on empircal evidence you cannot find God in completeness. Your emperical evidence is all confined to this little dot you live in your whole life. For folks who believe in God, our faith provide us the aid needed to see beyond what are phsyical senses can perceive.
Re: Does God Exist?
^ I think you just made the point that it is irrational to believe that God is so obsessed with our insignificant existance that he would have sent a myopic message like the Quran as his best and last message.

And then they say we're intolerant whenever we say peep about other faiths....

I think that’s a totally immoral statement. Oops…
Anyhoo…religious scriptures are not presented as formal arguments, they’re declarative. Just like any OTHER moral system…your attempt at side stepping the original point aside…
Re: Does God Exist?
He does care about us and cares about our well being . He has told us the following scientific fact in Quran. Only mention of this fact should be enough for a person of open mind to accept Islam as a true religion and Quran a book from Allah:
