I don't think that the Quran goes into enough detail of scientific mattes to have enough "facts" to refute.
So we are content with the theory that all of mankind - with their different races, skin colors, languages, etc - are all the ancestors of just 2 people? This is just one example of scripture defying scientific fact AND common sense. Or do you believe Adam and Even were created hundreds of thousands of years ago?
Quran is not a science book remember. It stated some facts, which science has not been able to disprove though it has proven many of them. I do not look in the Quran to study and understand sciences.
I don't see how it goes against scientific theories. According my own DNA analysis, I have ancestoral roots in Central Asia and the Balkans and those people look nothing like I do or anyone in my family. Truth is I don't know when Adam and Eve were created, all Quran states they were the first of our kind. This in no way opposes scientific research. Quran does not state if there were any forms of life before Adam and Eve which could have been closely human enough in form to be taken as the intermediate forms which the theory of evolution suggests. What depends is what inferences are drawn out of that theory. I am opposed to inferences which suggest that everything happened randomly and with no order.
What is it that defies common sense? Can two of a species not evolve into billions today? If that defies common sense that the theory of evolution with its roots into randomness occuring over millions of years is much more whimsical given there is no concrete evidence of the forms. The Darwinian theory masks everything as possible with the passage of time because it falls short on evidence of its propositions.
