I’ve come across 2 couples in the last year who were going through divorce b/c of this. In both cases, the husband discovered the child wasn’t biologically his b/c the child had a medical disease that required surgery. Of course, parents/siblings have the highest odds of being “matched” when there’s a need for a kidney, bone marrow, blood etc.
Soooo…when the dad got tested in order to save “his” child’s life…tests came back that he wasn’t the biological father at all.
In both cases, the “father’s” waited until the medical crisis was over…and then filed for divorce (actually…in 1 of the cases, the husband shares custody of the child…he still wanted to stay involved in the child’s life…just didn’t want to stay married to the cheating wife).
