does caste matter

I was reading ideal rishta checklist thread. many posters are in favor of spouse from same caste/family.

does it make couple more compatible?

Re: does caste matter

I don't think so.

Re: does caste matter

It does matter. But that doesnt mean your caste is better or the others caste is lower than yours. It's just about similarity of lifestyle, traditions and customs.

Like Kashmiri people have their specific food and rasms and same goes for pathans, rajputs, etc etc. However this doesnt mean you can't have a succesful marriage with someone out of your caste but i believe it will just be a little more adjustment to make for both. So when marriage already is such a hard task, why not try to make it easy by finding like minded families with similiar background.

Re: does caste matter

the more civilized one is as an individual and human being, the less these self created differences matter.

Re: does caste matter

yes yes it does because my caste is better than yours.. buss keh diya

Re: does caste matter

self created they are but they are a reality now which we can't escape!

are you trying to say that every civilized human being is gonna have a same lifestyle? or same customs and traditions? Yes, to some people these customs dont matter in that case it might not be an issue to marry out of caste. But to those whom it does, its not that easy to adjust with it. Not saying its not possible but just an added adjustment to make in marriage.

Re: does caste matter

Nope it doesn't matter at all!

Re: does caste matter

Yes, it matters. Different castes should NOT mingle or mix their blood lines. It pollutes things and creates problems for future generations.

Seriously, think about it:

If Syeds and (God forbid) Rajputs started mating...what would happen to the future of our kids?

I mean, kahan ki insaniyat hai ye? Duniya kya kahegi?

Re: does caste matter

Caste...trivial matters.

Re: does caste matter

1- of course we can escape them if we choose to

2- no I am not trying to say that, i am saying that the more civilized you are, the more open you are to other lifestyles, customs and traditions. customs or traditions are important to an extent, not to the extent that some people make it out to be. The bigger the differences, the more important that would be for adjusting, not how important you make it to be. I am hard pressed to see what major differences can exist in people of same race, same religion, who speak same language living in the same city, same mohalla..that they can't marry among each other.

Re: does caste matter

don't worry, i don't think their parts are compatible.

Re: does caste matter

I girl is girl and a guy is a guy…why complicate life?

Re: does caste matter

Caste system is stupid because people take their caste to their head and have pride over it. I agree with X2
In the modern world it has no system
In Islam it has no place
so thinking that marrying out of caste is a big deal is silly and paindu

Re: does caste matter

Not true.. Some people already have escaped the caste system so obviously it can be done..

Fingers crossed it will die out all together in time..

Re: does caste matter

WAIT

It is not silly.

If we dont stay within the caste, our forefathers will lose all their izzat.

Phir kya karengay? :crying:

Re: does caste matter

there is NO caste system in Islam...PERIOD!

Lol reha I hope your kidding. Btw I am one those u may have mentioned ahem!

I think caste system is beyond pants, but it’s something our parents inflict upon us, I am glad the newer generations here (in the west) are gradually moving away from it. But what about the pakistans back in pak? Who do not integrate outside their tribes?? (castes) and there is even favouritism amongst them. As in if ur jatt u wud sell ur car to another one, no one else? True story - same stories with zameen. Etc. I dunno what extent this reaches out in city, but I know of city dwellers (more than one instance) who make sure they find right caste. Where do u draw the line! So u can’t say it’s just pind folk. I also know of developed towns behaving like this.

Re: does caste matter

Caste only matters to ****ing jahils. Your name does not affect your DNA.

Re: does caste matter

Culture...ethnicity..religion...I understand wanting to stay within those bounds....but caste?? what is it about caste that differentiates? can someone explain this to me?!

Re: does caste matter

I am kidding my dear! I dont know of too many people who are into this. There are some but we dont mingle with such because its just not something we’ve been brought up to care about. We have a guy from Karachi that married into our family, one from Lahore, one Caucasian, one from Hyderabad (India) and many more. They’re all Muslim, educated, respectful and come from good families.

It has nothing to do with similarities of lifestyle and blah blah. It has more to do with a zidd…to be different and exalted above everyone else.

If two people want to make a marriage work, they will. Their zaat wont come in handy then.
