i will only tell you that belief is belief, if you feel the need to argue it it means your faith is weak, faith is blind and needs no argument!
We may argue in favor of our belief. Is it not our duty as Muslims to spread and defend the word of Islam?
You're right. I have noticed that you do not waste your time arguing. You do, however, make rude comments and laugh in a sense that you are mocking other people's views, even degrading the intellectual ability of some.

Sal35 is correct in presenting why Darwin's logic makes sense to him.
On the other hand, Crecent is right in presenting hsi view. My hope was that without making the 'reasoning' become belief fights, we could ponder upon the nature of our species in its existence.

Parissenoor - I don't usually post in the Philosophy forum, but I have seen some of your posts in the Religion forum, and I can tell you this: You definately have a different approach when you are confronting what you believe to be flaws in other faiths. In the Religion forum, your posts show a good sense of justification and reasoning. In the Cafe, as I have noticed, you simply laugh and mock people's reasoning.
This is hypocrisy, based upon the fact that you are pointing out that members are displaying their views in the Cafe because the Cafeites are "blind" and we do want to go up against the "gurus" in the Philosophy forum. However, I do not see you mocking others belief in such a haughty manner in other forums, as I see you doing in the Cafe. Perhaps it is for the same reason - because you believe the Cafeites to be "blind" and suppose that they will not argue back. That is where Crescent_ and I came along. Whereas in the other forums, there are "gurus" (alongside the fact that this is a majority-Muslim forum), who will look down upon your lack of reasoning as you choose to ridicule beliefs in an impolite manner, and thus you do not act like this in those forums.
But then again, I may be wrong. =)
I am not trying to be rude or cause a whole new argument. The worst I have said is nothing but the truth. I hope you understand why I am pointing this out. If you disagree, simply state that and even provide reasoning if you wish. I am offended by how you are mocking our beliefs. I am also really surprised in seeing you act like this. :(
Anyways, I apoligize for getting off topic. I just thought I'd give you my incite on the discussion so far. You all may carry on, but as for me, I've read my share of mockery.

my post about guru and blind followers had nothing to do with cafe and philosophy…it was about the people who are using books to fill the gap they have between their ears…like the student in crescent example

well phati it is exactly that , that i find weak, i explain with all due respect, evolutoin theory is based on many arguments, that are scientifically proved, most of modern biology is based on it…and you would like to throw to the bin modern biology only because of your understanding of islam?
i’m sorry but do you know how the world would be without modern biology? would you even be alive without modern medicine? it is hypocrisy to reject modern biology theory on one hand and accept modern medicine on another…but i may be wrong on the scientific bases…i am not a doctor…

I already did that in an earlier post in this thread.
Also, how would you explain the different skin colors of human beings? Did the ancestors of white people just lay in their caves all day as opposed to ancestors of other races?
P.S. The skelaton that was claimed to be of a "homosapien" or whatever was never even complete, so there is no justification in saying that it was the skelaton of one of the phases of evolution.

i think so, i see it like that: what about creating humans from one man and woman (the original pair, aka adm and eve), that both evolved from animals?

Also, it wouldn't be considered "evolution" even if we did come from animals, given that Allah has created us (as the Quran states).

can we understand Allah? no i think he knows best...so he did not talked about dinosaurs, or America ...and not also about our far remote ancestors...he chose what is in quran for reasons that we can not understand...

The Golden Ratio is a proven SCIENTIFICAL theory supporting the Intelligent Design controversy. Do you specifically know where in nature it can be found (almost EVERYWHERE), but if not, let me know and I'll give you plenty of examples.
It is unbelievable that the structure of an ape's body does not comply with the Golden Ratio, however the human body, which just "naturally evolved, has instances of the Golden Ratio all over. This patter could not have just come about through a random natural phenomenon due to evolving through different phases.
You are right, not everything is stated in the Quran. However, when Allah (swt) is explaining the creation of Man, and if evolution was a part of this, don't you think He would have cared to mention that we evolved from another animal? Or maybe that is just some teeny sidebar information that doesn't amount to much...

phatima i would like to explain that all that is scientifically proven is not evenly scientific…
when i worked in a research lab last year i discovered they sometimes do arrage their numbers and figures to match their claims, and the most suspicious part of science is statistics, basically one can use statistics to prove anything even the silliest things
one example: it is scientifically proven that women wearing pants have higher chances to catcht the flu that women wearing skirts:D

no, it means you have to move to australia during winter, cause there is summer too, so you’ll wear skirts and avoid flu…winter is the reason for flu, not pants…

Yes, I understand that there are some studies that can prove ridiculous theories, however this is not just some random pattern. It has been deliberately incorporated in our bodily structure, as well as the structure of plants, animals, planets, and even the bird song frequencies.
