Re: Do girls still get touched up whilst shopping in Pakistan?
If you look at one of my ghussa wali pics you will know what I mean by the kind of face you should make when going out in the streets in Pakistan lol. Just do that and no one will annoy you … I will change my avatar for a minute, check the photo out.
Also, as soon as the vendors find out your from abroad they bump up the price 50% so its good to try and dress low-key. My cousins also think we dress like right paindus when we visit Pakistan but then they are always under the impression that since we live abroad we must wear mini-skirts and tank tops. lameness.
I knowww, same here. But even girls in pak check u out up to down. I would feel so awkward. And they would keep staring even when you know they are staring at you. It's happened several times in khi, my lil sis was all ready to go fight with 2 girls who were staring at us, but I stopped her. I asked my cousin what's up with that, and they're like yea if you don't dress mod, u are bound to get stared and made fun of. I'm like seriously? Do I really need to wear the carpis and sleeveless kameezain tou fit in a MUSLIM country? give me a break! Pak is too westernized to the point that people abroad are actually better!

Whilegropingand ogling happen in every country and culture, I think in many Muslim countries, it can sometimes be a bit worse because if a wwoman is groped or leered at, she is usually blamed for it. She was dressed too provocatively, or she acted provocatively...you get the picture. Its easier for the guys to get away with it.
That said, its happened to me here in the US. Crowded subways attract perverts like a magnet. If a perv started getting too close to me, I'd look around to catch someones eye and say "Pervert alert!" then glare at and move away from the perv. That would usually cause the perv to exit the car at the next stop. If I was too slow in detecting their move, I'd place the pointy heel of my shoe on top of the perv's foot and shift my weight onto it. "oops....I'm SO sorry about that"

ouch. Placing the pointy heel on perv's foot was literal, right?

It actually doesnt make a difference if you wear heels or not...something I learned in Kung-Fu class is that the top of the arch of the foot has an extremely concentrated number of nerve endings. Its therefore one of the most painful places to inflict injury upon, even slight pressure on that spot can cause extreme pain.
sara, the wall st line was rife with pervs, it was a popular topic of conversation with the gals at work - how to deal with them etc.
