…actually have good relations with your in laws? No seriously, I want to know. Because it seriously seems like you guys made some seriously bad life choices. What were you thinking?
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
I don't know about others but I have good relations with my inlaws if you don't mean "good relations" as "total submission".
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
I do.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
aisha u married??
Re: Do any of you Guppans....

Re: Do any of you Guppans…
And I thought we only had imaginary friends ![]()
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
Well I do as long as I see them once in a year!
LOL just kidding, I do, they are good to me, too good.

Sometimes in laws dont' show their true colors til after the wedding
and sometimes, the girls are so stupid that they KNOW their in laws are monsters but still want to go through with the wedding.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
^ hey if u love your man, then u sometimes ignore the unpleasant things .. anyway sometimes as a girl marring you have to be tackful with your inlaws, there is allways a way to win hearts, you just have to find the right method.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
Effects of indian soap operas on our women! You watch something for too long, you become a part of it. Cancel their subscriptions, and things will dramatically improve.
I say you all start watching Warner Brothers' shows right away.
Before someone jumps in and says it, yeah I have been watching Nat Geo for quite some time :D
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
I have really good relationship with my ILs. Almost married for 10 yrs and never had any big fights with any one in the family. It takes time, cooperation and patience from both end.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
I do a good relationship but that's because they are nice people.
CM - do people even know their in laws before they get married in our culture? Most of them have met ILs once or twice before gettig married.
It's not like in our culture the In laws and the girl HANG OUT before marriage and discuss expectations or roles. GOD FORBID WE LEARN TO COMMUNICATE!!!
In my case - I met my MIL a day before my engagement and met my FIL after I was married.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
I think most people "like" their in-laws but no relationship is perfect. You get to hear all the complains but nothing about all the good things in-laws do.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
I have an excellent, very close relationship with my MIL and one of my husband's sisters. With his brother and the other sister too we are very comfortable just not that close in terms of "sharing secrets" and all. My MIL treats me like her daughter and my choti nand treats me like a true bhabhi...depends on me, listens to me, shares her deepest darkest thoughts with me and respects me. I treasure that and cherish it.
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
CM, its not the guppans rather "their friend or a person they know" have problems with their in-laws ;)

How can u really love someone before you marry them? before you know them?
It's one thing when things turn sour after--then I guess a girl has no choice...but before? when warning signs are there, when everyone is TELLING You to get out..and u dont'... then i dont think seh ahs any right to complain or cry afterwards and deserves everything she gets.

But isn't that rather silly to leave a good guy just because he has nasty parents?
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
^ I think so - but the nastiness does creep into your life somehow...
Re: Do any of you Guppans....
^I think it's fun having nasty in laws.....at least you have something to complain about.

Most of the time the girl will be living with the parents, and if the family is horrible-life will be hell no matter how wonderful the guy is.
Unless he himself is not associated with his family at all, a guy is a product of his parents, the upbringing etc. Chances are, he will get sick of the constant bickering between wife/parents/siblings and one will end up suffering.
