Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Just another example that shows that influence of Good ol Rabbais is impossible to shake.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
oh be quiet and eat your kebabs and chicken Mr kaleem.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
This ONLY tells us that THOSE events took place in the past. It is NOT saying that in future, such events will take place as some punishment. I don’t think it is fair to draw a comparison with what happened in the Northern areas.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
FG, while I do appreciate your comment on the verses quoted by armughal, however, those verses are a clear indication of what Allah will do in the future as well. Look, I do not believe that quake was a punishment from Allah, but, you cannot dismiss those verses either.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Kebabs and Chicken? Why not bhinddi and Aalo Ghosht? better yet Piyaz Qeema…Can I add a bagel so I can include my jewish bretheren in my iftar party?
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Kaleem, I am not trying to prove their meaning either way. All I am saying is that I think those verses describe a particular event that took place in the past.
Would it be safe to assume that every natural disaster can be looked via the ayaas quoted by armughal? I am not so sure…but I am all ears.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
ThandayMazak & armughal, here's the response I was referring to:
[quote]
Al-Salâm `Alaykum wa Rahmah Allah wa Barakâtuh.
Everything that happens in creation is by Allah’s decree. We will not call them random events in the context of talking about Allah.
However, it is not for us to impose our own understandings upon Allah’s decrees. Allah knows why He decrees what He does. Allah’s wisdom in what He does is part of the Unseen that we cannot know about except by way of revelation. Since we are not recipients of direct revelation, we cannot make such claims.
In the Qur’ân, we read: “And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart – of each of those one will be held to account.” [Sûrah al-Isrâ’: 36]
We also read: “Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has only forbidden immoralities – both those made manifest and those that are concealed – and sin and transgression without right and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority and that you say about Allah what you do not know.” [Sûrah al-A`râf: 33]
We should not concern ourselves with trying to figure out the wisdom behind Allah’s actions in His creation, but rather with how we should conduct ourselves when faced with the circumstances that are decreed for us.
In the case where a natural disaster strikes, we are called upon to help those who are faced with hardship and difficulties on account of the disaster. We are called upon by Allah to help our fellow human beings and be charitable when tragedy strikes.
It does not matter if those in need are Muslims or non-Muslims. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Every possessor of a living heart can receive charity.”
And Allah knows best.

Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
they are indeed.. but that’s another discussion..
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
i think the discussion here is very one-sided....
the only small confusion about the couple of verses has been cleared by various posters and since we r all lining on the same side, possibly cursing that mullah for not having pity for the victims, i think we shud bring down the curtains on this, before someone twists this to some other direction and ignites sparks....
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Thread reopened upon request (until further notice).
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
This my friend is how mullah and politix uses the Quran too. You make a conclusion and then find the supporting facts in Quran ![]()
Bahhhh not worth my time …
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Now that the thread has been reopened…thanks to Ehsan
death caused by unnatural reasons is the same no matter caused by an earthquake or stampede. Being a muslim, it is our faith everything is decreed by the will of Allah, so where and more importantly and who draws the line. Thus the question, how come certain mullahs and their supporters can be so definite that it was Allah’s direct intervention in just this earthquake?
Fact is God does not relay his decisions to ppl like Mullahs or their minnows, once again being a muslim its our faith that Muhammed (PBUH) was the last messenger and with his death ended any revealations. Unless, u ascribe to someother viewpoint.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Clarification needed.
It was not a request but an observation on mods conflict of interest when they operate as moderators and active participants in various discussions. Reference of course was the unilateral closure of this thread by a mod who was an active participant.
I wouold like to thank GS director Mr Ehsan for his timely intervention and hope such episodes will not be repeated.

Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
Hm.
How do you know Mamaof3 is not making this story up, just for craps and giggles?
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
I’d like to find how you evaluate who is sinner and who is not. That would really help me distinguish from country to country and from town to town and from person to person.
P.S. The people who died due to all this natural disaster does not mean they all were sinners there could have been good people too and Allah do take the nice people early for their own benefits. I’d say pray for your own sins instead trying to find out about others.
Mywish if you are really a strong beliver as you said than I doubt you would have questioned about the disaster. Allah knows best not you or me leave it up to Him.
Re: Disturbing - Conversation with a Mullah
So are we allowed to Question Allah (swt) for what He does and not?
