I remember when I was in Pakistan, if a boy was chubby or fat they would call them "healthy", in a positive way. Do they do this still for boys, or they want the boys to be thin too now?
It's not healthy if the woman is malnourished or avoiding food in favor of coffee and cigarettes. Many women do that in order to stay skinny as well as laxatives and diet pills. So, no thin is not always healthy. However if any human, man or woman eat according to the nutritional guidelines, get proper exercise and rest, they'll be healthy. Their body size will be in accordance with their own genetic norm. That's different for everyone. So women can be curvy, chubby and still healthy.
Desi women come in all colors, shapes and sizes. I promote being healthy - whether you are skinny, curvy etc.
I think one things is definately lacking in desi women knowing how to take care of their HEALTH like eating right - taking vitamins, milk, fruits and vegatables and exercise. Knowing what you BMI is.
It doesn't mean if you are skinny that you don't need to exercise
Everyone would be surprised to see how good you start looking and feeling when you incorporate proper diet and exercise into our lives.
There are many desi girls who are skinny but not because they diet or want to be, they just are. There are others who, despite eating healthy and accordingly, are curvy and chubby. This is what makes desi women unique and I think that we should focus on the fact that all women are beautiful in their own way, instead of labeling curvy as attractive and skinny as repulsive like many here are. I am skinny but that isnt because I diet, its just the way my body is built. As for girls who strive to achieve the skinny look, what do you expect when there is so much pressure in the media and in our culture as well to be fit and thin?? When a family is looking for a girl to marry their son to, what do they base their initial judgement on? Weight, looks. Do we really expect desi women to feel comfortable in their own skin when there is constant bombardment of what ideal beauty is from family and media?
Yes they can, and that msg wasn't directed at anyone it was a general statement that in Pak when u call sumone healthy, pleasantly plump they mean fat! Why so touchy?

Im Glad that you all are so interested in a much debated topic, but all in all i think the main outcome is healthy, curvy, fit women are much prefered in reality.
I don't know what the issue here there a 100 million guys who like chubby chicks, then an other 100million who like skinny ones than another 100million who like boyish body.
I am assuming all you girls need is ONE boy for yourself ??
I am sure you will find one who find you exotic.

In pakistan, some ladies said that i was too skinny and that I should be "Hell-dhee" like them. They were grossly overweight, extremely puffed up legs and arms, bellies sagging over their fronts and hanging over their sides, triple chins to say the least, couldn't take 3 steps without running out of breath.
So to them ladies, this was the "HEALTHY" look. I guess UNHEALTHY would be what they call a person when they r dead.
^I can sooo relate. Heck, I have even had ‘certain’ people on GS pm me after I posted my pictures to tell me I was sooo thin and how my arms looked sooo skinny and blah blah.. the funniest was, ‘oh you look like a model but you should get a bit chubby’ I don’t get this fascination with other peoples’ weight. There are alot of ‘healthy’ girls I have seen on gs and they look beautiful. So just because I am skinny myself, should I start preaching and messaging them to invest in a gym? Please go take care of your own health and fitness before you start telling others to lose or gain weight. There’s something called high metabolism that does not let alot of people gain weight despite of whatever you eat, whatever you do. If you have a hard time comprehending that then don’t even bother
No one's insecure here, people need to lighten-up a little, Yep Shay even if u've lost 2 pounds such aunty's will saw "oh kitni kamzoor hogayi ho, khaaya peeya karo" LOL
lol^:omg:
Shay this is a discussion board so people can discuss there opinions, im sure when overweight auntys tell skinny girls to gain weight to look healthly there not implying to become obese… They are just looking out for your best interest. When people come up to you and ask you if you have a weight issue whether it being too heavy or skinny you know its a issue…
A friend of mine is pretty chubby and I was to drop her off to her Mami's house, when we stepped-in Mami ji screeched how weak she was...and how it's not right for girls to be skinny cuz they have to have babies etc etc..when in real, she had lost 2.2 pounds!
Working with 99% males, I always get to hear how guys want "proportionate" girls..
i don't understand why its okay for everyone to blatantly criticize girls who are skinny. but the minute you even suggest to a girl that she should shed some pounds, its seen as offensive and a sensitive topic to bring up.
and no. not every man in this world prefers chubby and curvy. this world doesn't consist of only 10 men.. and besides, why are women so focused on what the man finds physically attractive?? to hell with that, women should focus more on developing their minds and increasing their standing in society etc. why are we wasting our time worrying about what the men think... please.
My post was in response to Rupay Halwa’s
And no, they are not looking out for anyone’s best interest.. they do it because it is now a habitual thing for most of them. I doubt if any of these aunties who we barely meet 2-3 times a year will have so much concern about my well being Again, I don’t know why this weight thing has to be made such a big deal of? lol.. it’s noone’s business. If you’re fat and you’re happy, GOOD for you.. if you’re skinny and you’re happy, again good for you! People just have too much time on their hands to be sitting and thinking about others’ extra kilos or lack of.
