I never said u shud listen to what men have to say and follow them argh! I said 99% men are attracted to "proportionate" females..I didn't mock skinny girls OR chubby girls! As long as u're healthy and happy!
hah! yeah its like in this thread all the curvy girls are threatening the thin girls that you better beef yourself up or no one will want you like the world wants us.
LMAO!!
Re: Dissapointed in Desi Girls

Re: Dissapointed in Desi Girls
After such a thread you exactly know who got what kind of body.
NICE!!
My post was in response to Rupay Halwa's :) And no, they are not looking out for anyone's best interest.. they do it because it is now a habitual thing for most of them. I doubt if any of these aunties who we barely meet 2-3 times a year will have so much concern about my well being :D Again, I don't know why this weight thing has to be made such a big deal of? lol.. it's noone's business. If you're fat and you're happy, GOOD for you.. if you're skinny and you're happy, again good for you! :) People just have too much time on their hands to be sitting and thinking about others' extra kilos or lack of.
Its unfortunate that the aunties you know are like that, but thankfully the women i know, care about me enough to share their years of experiences with me :) Im not making anyones weight my business, im just putting my opinion out there. I could care less if your happy with your boney arms and i bet you could care less about my curvy body. Its a discussion board and everyone has a right to their own opinon, im glad with your input we could hear both sides of the argument, but in the end my intentions are not to get in peoples business, but to voice my own thoughts :)
Re: Dissapointed in Desi Girls
^ see, saying "boney" vs curvy, thats not nice either. Ppl should be happy with what they are (or change within reason if they're not) and most of all, just let the other person live their life! If someone is happy with how they look then why is it a problem for anyone else?
ALso sarashah i think u have met the rare rare minority of women who actually do care. but for the most of us we come across way too many haters. Noone can stand to see a woman be happy with her body/looks. (hell nobody likes to see others happy, but that's a whole other topic).
The whole point of this thread (well what i think it is) is that one shouldn't go ape-nuts over something that they cannot be, just b/c of 1) what stupid ppl say, and 2) what the even stupider media tells u to look like. Some girls are naturally thin, and some girls are not, but neither of us have the right to call the other fat or ugly or lardasses or boney or whatever.
In pakistan, some ladies said that i was too skinny and that I should be "Hell-dhee" like them. They were grossly overweight, extremely puffed up legs and arms, bellies sagging over their fronts and hanging over their sides, triple chins to say the least, couldn't take 3 steps without running out of breath.
So to them ladies, this was the "HEALTHY" look. I guess UNHEALTHY would be what they call a person when they r dead.
One aunty saw my bedroom and said that my parents had built it to accomodate my size. Meanwhile she was just like the aunties you described.
PM- LOL!
Re: Dissapointed in Desi Girls
If I find a girl WHO find me exotic(happens very often lol)
AND I find her exotic too.
And we are together, its like heaven on the earth.
I couldn't careless how ALL other women think about me.
Traditionally with our parent's generation, a curvy figure was favored. I think it had something to do with showing wealth. A well fed body meant a woman had the resources to nourish herself well. Beauty was also associated with youth. A round, full face and milky skin were ideal. Western influence has changed that round face to a gaunt one with chiseled cheek bones. The typical curvy hips, stomache and chest are fertility signifiers. They're replaced with signs of independence. By being super-skinny women are declaring that they're not baby making machines. And whether they know it or not, skinny women could be risking their health.
i think the media influenced our parents' generation as well..for example if u look back at the pakistani/indian actresses of those days they had fuller figures and now that i look back many women in my family had beautiful bodies in their younger years..they werent anorexic or anything. I guess twiggy hadn't influenced the east back then
^Yep, you're absolutely right.
Many people ignore that some girls are naturally thin and sadly others label them as anorexic or insecure about their weight. I have heard even some models such as Vinnie don't put much efforts into looking slim and 'modelish' because they don't have the tendency to gain weight. And yet, I have seen people asking her on shows if she's anorexic/bulimic/etc etc. Just because one sees a thin girl doesn't mean she has gone leaps and bounds to get that look.. it could very much be god gifted.
On the other hand, if a person is going crazy trying to look thin just because they think that's what looks good then there's an inside selfesteem issue that they need to tackle.

^ Riiigggght!
Shay, thank yew for summing it up! People here are so judgemental..they turn around general statements into personal ones..funny funny!
Your comments don't necessarily indicate that you are actually interested in acknowledging the lookism that the writer of this thread discussed. What is your problem?

Judgemental is right.. with that, I am pretty much done with the discussion here. We have a trip to plan ;)

Me too Shay, sense of humour is rare in this thread..lets plan YOUR trip! Yallah..
Re: Dissapointed in Desi Girls
Buddy you are going to get a lot of different views... one person's trash is a nother person's treasure!!!! I personally think beauty comes in all different shapes, colors, and sizes!
One aunty saw my bedroom and said that my parents had built it to accomodate my size. Meanwhile she was just like the aunties you described.
LOL! i would have tripped her on her way out
