Her father saved the life of her daughter by saving her SIL... this is the way a Father and Brother do for her sister and daughter in our desi culture (Isnpired by Hindu culture specially)

16 weeks is too young to be consdiered life..the law runs into problems due the abortion laws..when do you consider it killing a life...and when do they allow it.. Anyhow..."he didn't know" isn't justification..and why wouldn't his wife tell him ...there is more to this story..

Regardless of whether or not she told him. HE. BEAT. HER. *so YES Lajjo, it was something serious. Yes there was more to this story: the fact that this is posted on a **desi* forum and there is only one man who gets riled up about it. The others are looking for holes in her account. Whether or not a baby was lost- she was hurt in her own right.
There are no excuses for him or her father. The latter of which is a tenuous description as the school of thought I prescribe to encourages earning paternal titles. Getting someone knocked up does not mean you are a father.

I can understand ur feelings about it, and anger as well, but you mever know kay shayad wo sahi hojai, thats why we are not suppose call a kafir a kafir, cuz he/she has potential to turn into a Muslim at any time, so have faith in Allah and pray for him and her, indeed Allah does not test any one beyond thier limits, and if something has to happen…will happen, and of course there is a price for every crime, so pray!

A father will think about his life, and for her daughter… Talaaq is not the only option… and will you give any guaranty about a ‘noble’ person he will find soon for her ? and will he not be doing the same in future? can you or any one give any guarantee? of course no one, so try to make it better what ever you have … her husband should be given achance to correct himself, and she should be acting like a sincere wife… remember when you say a women is behind the success of a man, then now she has to prove it…
A Ftaher will never want her daughter to get divorce, he will try to save her life and her fame, its not about his izzat, but about her life, he will not live longer than her daughter, ehnce he will not be able to protect her for a long, so he is just trying to make things better!

No, I think this idiocy is something that we appear to have embraced outside of all religious context. The fact that it is an everyday reality for your pind reinforces the f'ed up nature of male-female relations and power distributions in such households. You do not move on you make a stand and at the very least you don't presume that it is the husband that is suffering due to the loss of an inviable unborn. Personally, I am not aware of any crimes that occur in the west that are exclusive of our "mashriki" culture.
I am not even sure why I'm going into depth talking to you, chances are that 7/10 of the words will fly beyond your understanding - the rest you will justify or try and explain away.

I am not appreciating the beating or any thing, to me its the worst thing a man could do, but the majority of our men are like that, ... by taking divorce froma man and marrying other man is not asolution...
if you really want to do something, then make some strict laws, and give them some Islamic education to tell them what is a Woman... give them examples of Ummaha-ul-Momineen... once they are religiously educated, they will hate to themselve for beating a woman...

Any man who beats a woman should be jailed. Its such a shame that the guy isnt to be charged with murder....Florida law needs to be changed - in many other states, he would have been charged with murder. At least he;s being charged with a felony for beating the crap out of her. And may he get a tough judge INSHALLAH!, one that will consider the death of the baby and inflict the maximum penalty allowable. Once he gets to jail, its a sure bet that all the guards will let it be known what he did to his pregnant wife - and voila! He WILL get all that special attention from Bubba!
