Muslims often quote him for praising Islam.
If Bernard Shaw really understood Islam and had all praises for this religion…..he had no choice but to accept Islam. He remained in his false (as per Islamic teachings) religion.
There can be only two options…either he was lying about Islam or he was a hypocrite.
The same I can say about Mahatma Gandhi, Vajpey, Bush and Tony Blair…..they have often praised Islam.
Muslims must be counscious of quoting any non-Muslim for praising Islam. Most probably he is misleading the masses..

Off course not!
What great flexibility I see in Islam is to be able to accept any rule of law and social structure which is just and simple and is not in direct conflict with basic Islamic rules.
Muslims and muslims countries (majority) do accept any govt and civillian rules openly and have adapted various different social structures.
When it comes to basic Islamic rules than there is no question muslims will be steadfast. Otherwise he/she is not muslim.

Hello deedawar. Greetings. Catholics and many Jews dont. Also keep in mind that the west recognizes the partition between religion and secular government. So even those religious fundies that believe non Christians will go to Hell, usually do believe that non Christians have equal rights in this world under secular government. The Islamic World doesnt separate religion from political governance. Therefore extremism in religion translates directly into the political domain.

Yes, tell me which decade of history you want me to quote. Islamic history is mostly known for Jihad against Jihad…both quarrelling being Muslims. There is not a single year in history when Shia-Sunni did not run for each other’ blood.

As far as cultured and advanced christian states go. Christian ? my friend, live in the US, very few even bother believing in God here now, most teens and 20somethings are agnostic, athiest or just dont really bother with any thing. You're forgetting the major genocides this century commited by christians(serebrenica anyone ?), hindu's(gujrat anyone ?) shinto's(japanese subway anyone ?) and so on.
There's blood on everyones hand.

maniac, per islamic dictats governance is an integral part of religion. Unless you are saying that islamic governance should not be part of islam. which is something will make for peace from Philippines to the US. take out politics and econmics from islam and your theory holds true..otherwise it is a cop out.

Please quote any history of muslims where millions of people died in the hands of muslims. I dare you.
All you will find is fall of majority of people infront of muslims after few hundreds or thousands were killed. (Spain, India, Europe)
Wherever muslims ruled, they were welcomed by the citizens. Do we have any historical example where one group of people ruled for thousands of years and citizens were given freedom of choice?
Why would Islam spread so fast in few decades after its birth.
Same islamic rules were welcomed and cherished by millions of millions admit or not.
Here we have crusaders, spain, bosnia, WWI & WWII, Mongoles, Czars, napolean, division of India, Red indians, civil war etc. etc. etc.
There is no comparison to even talk or think among muslims and non-muslims killing in millions.
Shea sunni conflict is a recent problem mostly created and projected by the outside media which I am sure you are addicted to. Admittedly, Iran and Iraq war is an event full of shame for muslims for whatever reason it was started.

Many current day scientific work is based on muslim scholars. Medicine, biology, astrology, mathematics (concept and creation of number ‘zero’), industrial items including metallergy etc. all had the origin from muslim societies.
Well, current day science is a great help to human being also and thanks to all non-muslims and muslims for their contribution.
Having said all above, its admittedly shameful for some muslims to lose their great heritage of peace loving attitude, their quest for knowledge and hard work.
None of the muslim society was even close to what we heard about in Afghanistan. Education, quest for knowledge, translation of of books, philosophy, debates, poetry, music, art, civil engineering, hand-crafting, great clothings, road construction, water supply and sewage disposal, mail system etc. were all prevalent in muslim societies and encouraged for both men and women.
Even mongoles used to buy clothes from Bughdad.
Muslims cannot or must not continue to live in past but should learn from the history that staying in the path of islam with love for humanity, scientific research, quest for learning and tolerance for others are the ways they can make big and positive difference in the world.

What west is doing is entirely different thn what christianity says about non-christians.
First of all secularism as I have mentioned somewhere else is a big hoax.
Majority religeon always enjoyes the most in any country as you may find it even today. So changing name to ‘secularism’ is just a deception.
Even muslim societies (large dynasties) had ‘secularistic’ approach. Hard to swallow? Jews never enjoyed so much freedom except living under muslim rule.
There are instances of where non-muslims were told to pay Jaziya for their protection under Islamic rule (which is off course will be objected by non-muslims these days) but when the rulers found that they would not be able to protect anyone in coming days, they returned the money to non-muslims being the honest rulers as they were. The impact was that non-muslims either converted to Islam or remained non-muslims but fought together alongwith muslims against the outside force and won the battle.
