Is there any difference?

Sunny Deol is Jutt and Chohdri Shuja’at is Jaat. :hmmm:

it is just linguistic difference, we have same gotra as well, but some jatt Sikhs say that we are different people than them but racially it appears that we are of same ethnic group.

Hindu is Jat
Muslim is Muley jat/ maula jatt :D
Sikhs are Jatt

Jatt is A caste and Jaat/Zaat is the word FOR caste/brotherhood/class/race

All of them lol. Back when brits ruled the region, they used to take counts and note down who belonged to what caste. And at that time, Jatts were said to be the most common tribes/castes in Punjab. After brits left and the local pandits and those guys stopped keeping track, people who moved abroad changed their name and claimed to be jatts. So now the numbers are kinda skewed as any one can claim to be a Jatt and no one will know otherwise.

they are all over northern India. Jammu, Punjab, Himachal, western UP, harayana, Rajasthan :)

Don't bring Pundas here, I know what is value do jutts have when pundas are in :D

I think within Hinduism, Brahmin is still the highest caste. Jatts are mostly known for being macho men, in military, or land owners. And in Pakistan I think jatts are known for being like that also (like maula jatt) while Chaudharys are the land owners, etc.

Kinda like that joke i made in the other topic

Jats are post vedic tribe in India, hence they came to social classification a little late, but there position is between kshatriya and land owners :slight_smile:
