1) Lots of Water…2-3 litres /day ! Best to have it pre-meals…down 2-3 glasses of water just before you start eating…you’ll defintely eat less cuz ur full !
2) Green Tea and Kolanji seeds…I stayed during a course for 5 weeks at a hotel and had yummy dishes served daily , breakfast , lunch and dinner laden with calories but I always had kolanji abt a pinch first thing in the morning and green tea about 2 cups every evening with no sugar.
**I remember weighing myself afterwards feeling guilty that I must have gained loads but I hadn’t gained anything. I think it was the Green Tea and Kolanji seeds. They are known fat burners and increase metabolism. **
3) Quitting your most calorie laden addiction. I never thought I could live without Coke or Chocolate Cake. Once I decided to lose weight it made sense to quit something that was calorie ridden AND not have to re-haul my whole diet; that way you don’t feel like your deprived of everything . Once I overcame the first week of quitting and the “withdrawal” symptoms and consciously could pass a drinks vendor WITHOUT looking back and especially NOT running for the coke or chocolate when I was upset or depressed , I felt like I’d Achieved something HUGE… the feeling of being “IN CONTROL” and having “WILLPOWER” is Great.
Now I just don’t feel like having those things and know that I can allow myself the indulgence once in a while without feeling guilty later !
**4) Walking everywhere. Avoid using the car or bus. Use Stairs instead of elevator . You burn calories and you din’t even know ! **
**5 ) No Whites in my Diet…no pasta , no rice , no breads , no sugar ! **
6) No meals after 7pm.
These are things some that I started initaially and others I added on as I started losing weight . Share your tips with us !

I tried drinking green tea but had such a hard time finishing even one cup that I did not try it again. Is there any way to make it a better experience?

Munni you can add an artificial sweetner to sweeten it up .

Mix it up with fresh ginger, cinnamon, clove, cardamom...dont use a whole teabag of green tea, jst a couple of pinches from the bag, this is the way i drink it and it tastes really gud, u dont even need to sweeten it and all the above are really gud 4u!! x
***Eating out? Halve it, and bag the rest. A typical restaurant entree has 1,000 to 2,000 calories, not even counting the bread, appetizer, beverage, and dessert.
When dining out, make it automatic: Order one dessert to share.
Eat the low-cal items on your plate first, then graduate. Start with salads, veggies, and broth soups, and eat meats and starches last. By the time you get to them, you'll be full enough to be content with smaller portions of the high-calorie choices.
Cut back on or cut out caloric drinks such as soda, sweet tea, lemonade, etc. People have lost weight by making just this one change. If you have a 20-oz bottle of Coca-Cola every day, switch to Diet Coke. You should lose 25 lb in a year.
Take your lunch to work.
Eat at home.
Cravings will disappear after 10 minutes if you turn your attention elsewhere.***
hey kalonji is different than onion seeds. I read about it that ppl often take onion seeds as kalonji which is wrong. they only look like onion seeds. Now i dont know whats the exact word used for it in english.
***Maroush I know they are called nigella seeds but is that the name they use when sellnig or is there a layman's term for it . I thought black onion seeds were also the same thing
I lost a considerable amoint by just reducing the amount of carbs I consumed. I usually ate veggie/chicken stir frys without the rice/roti. I used to spice them up a bit extra so they tasted more exciting :D
If I had salan, I would be sure to add some veggies and have just 1 cup of rice with it. Lots of salad to fill up.
a lot of ppl write that they eliminate or reduce bread/roti from their diet. i find that i dont feel full if i dun have roti or bread with salan, no matter how much salad i have. how do u completely cut out bread/carbs from ur diet?
I personally don't think it's wise to cut out a whole food group from your diet. I think it's better to choose wisely, so instead of processed white carbs, opt for wholewheat/brown carbs.
So swap:
White bread for wholeweat seeded brown bread
white pasta for wholeweat pasta
white flour roti for wholeweat roti.
Also, aim to strike a better balance between carbs, protein and fibre. Just try to consume less carbs and more protein, but don't eliminate carbs completely.
