Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Nadz,

I would suggest setting up an appointment with the doctor and learning about the various options for birth control. You can tell the doctor about any concerns you have about birth control (such as weight gain, mood swings)...and she can suggest the type of BC that meets your needs.

It's an important topic because while you might want kids in the future....you might not want them in the near future.....hence the birth control. And from what I've read, it's not prohibited in Islam and its advisable to discuss the issue with your husband. I have a feeling this thread will be moved to the health forum.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

WITHOUT KNOWING HIM TAKING PILL WILL BE SO WRONG.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

AGree with u...

Nadz u must see a doc about this issue...dont listen any cousin or friend..because everyone's health is different..

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Yeah, I took tylenol 3.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

LOL :D

Panadol is my cup of tea over tylenol, lol :)

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Nadz...Larki! Why don't you talk to your hubby to be and ask for this kind of advice? You seem to talk to him about everything else.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

as some posters suggested, discuss with ur doc and later on with ur hubby.. dont ever go for cousin-sister-friend advice

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Nadzz, i think taking pills even prescribed by Dr. will not be a gud idea if ur hubby isn't involved in this matter totally. and as sumone above said right that u seems to be too bold to discuss anything with him, then y not this?

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Birth-Control is allowed in Islam

Any-body whos says is not, doesnt know his Relgion.

But Islamically there are some preferances and dispreferances of Birth-Control.

The preferred way is 'cotuis-loitus' if thats how its spelt.

and Nadz. Sister I tell u in advance, your husband should be aware of this.

You could speak to him in a indirect/ inexplicit way.

OK im out before it gets explict. hope people got my point..

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Oh my God. Go see a doctor.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

First discuss with Husband. Then Doctor!

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Speak to him about it. If you can't then speak to your mother, sister or friend and go see a doctor. Yasmin is a great option when it comes to pills, safe effective, and great with acne and weight reduction.

But I highly recommend you do something about this well before the wedding. Taking the pill the day before the wedding is not effective contraception and if you end up preggers before you're ready you'll regret it.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

And hun...if you can ask perfect strangers for advice on such a personal topic then surely you must be able to approach your mother...

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

O yea ! One should take sleeping pills right before rukhsatii ! you know why , as i say if people start taking me advice , we wont see too many first night threads here :)

both of ya , will be happily sleeping :) Karloo jo kaRna hai :@:

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

nadz some of these “shockers” are giving you wrong advise. You are old enough to be married, so YA of course - BIRTH control is YOUR CONCERN at this time. Those who think you are too “advanced” are WRONG - cause hey you will be in the advanced stage that wedding night - ALL OF SUDDEN rt? man - ignore some people here!

okay so as far as the “educated righteous advise is concerned” - RV covered it :hehe:

here’s your other big sista’s advise - if you do not get a chance to take the pills before, and if you do not get a chance to talk to your hubby about birth control - Before - then you betta hope he is prepared for the tricks that won’t make you a pregger that night or any time soon! :hehe: “guys” know the “tricks”… right boyz? lol

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

^ Aliyish… are you a red headed leprechaun by any chance? :hehe:

Nadz, If you are thinking of using birth control pills, then (apart from the emergency pill) these must be used well in advance to the ‘day of the deed’… however i echo the advice given above that you should consult with your doctor for the best course of action for you… some of the medication may not be suitable for you, and it’s really trial and error to find the one that is best for you, so really you need to go to the doc, rather than just taking the same thing as someone else.

Also, speak to your hubby to be. Do not say regurgitate stuff like “i can’t speak to him about stuff like this” etc etc… If so then why are you marrying him? Are you going to spend the rest of your life with him living in silence? You are both mature adults, and you need to discuss this with him…

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

I'm amused by how freaked out people are getting in response to such a valid question.

Nadz, it's much better to remain ignorant and confused, to let life "happen" to you, rather than having any control or using your brain.

For the slower folks in this thread (there seem to be plenty), the above comment was sarcastic.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Your best bet is to see an Ob-Gyn and get reccomendation from her as to when to start the pill, and which one. I would talk to your fiancee about it...but I wouldn't do it in question form, ie asking for permission. I would do it more like advising him that you believe in family planning, and think BC pills are a good step...etc....
if for whatever reason you are not able to start BC pills in time, I would recommend you taking external contraceptives with you, in case he hasn't taken care of that.

Re: did you girls take any pills/etc before your wedding days???

Its totally fine.................Just get the one right for you..................Your hubby won't be preceiving you as a baby popping machine...............Just enjoy the first couple of years.......take it easy..........have chill pills ( Cuz your hubby will be on pills too :biggthumb )
