Hi Guys!!!

Decided to have a close friends Dholki party and need your help. At the moment I have thought of a Pink Rose theme (no surprise lol) and thought of asking all the guests to wear any shade of pink. I could make rose garlands in deep and light rose (need to go back and few Chanda’s garland thread).

Could you guys help me elaborate on this idea or even suggest better ones because I cant think of one right now. I dont really want to go with the uber-traditional yellow/green theme.

All shades of pink will look very pretty... add fairylights and sheer material and lots of petals and pink candles! dreamy

hang bangles, buy different shades of pink bangles in bullk online and tie them together with string and hang from the ceiling...sounds complicated but its very simple and looks adorable.
fairy lights would look great as gina mentioned, and drape things using pink duppatas.

hehe…i was just joking, let me ask you…is this dholki going to be indoor at ur house or a hall?

both ways, u can get a lot of pink paper lanterns, that would be pretty…something like this but in pink:

hang string lights on the walls;

and of course…candles

i think ur dhokli would be very pretty,
i would look for more stuff for you and let you knw.

Pink is an amazing choice. Try using glass candle holders and put pink candles inside them. Once lit, they look amazing! Also try using tulle (the net fabic used to decorate. Get the tulle in pink and use white table clothes. And to top it all off u can get pink rose petals and put them on the tables. Thats what was done for my engagement. (my outfit was pink)

blushingrose…i would narrow down things that can easily be done in pink. And keep the rest less/more contrasting depending on the mood.

Pink can be worked with…

2-3 diff shades of pink cushions
pink feathers, roses, chargers with candles
you can find dried flowers etc..in shades that compliment pink to use for potpourri
Lavender, Branches, Naturals

pink floating candles in vases
pink petals
diff shades of pink fabric for the seating arrangement
pink sashes for the chairs
lovely pink lemonade or other drink in chic flutes.
pinks paper lanterns from saveoncrafts.com (tons of ideas from this website)

pink party favors..such as organza/silk pouches with candy…or pink candy :slight_smile:

inside/outside havent decided yet--maybe both--having dinner outside and the rest inside.....oooo have a swimming pool that has a light that changes color:)

hmmm maybe I could get those floating candles in pink....or whtever floats on a pool:S:S

Oh, WOW! Lovely idea! My hands are itching to do a search. LOL! You can do pink used with gold accents, light and bright pink blended together, pink and green or pink with navy for a more preppy look.

Pink is decided but are you going to wear something contrasting to stand out as a bride?

Here are a few stage, decoration ideas plus pink guests:

  1. Serve fresh pink lemonade.
  2. Make strawberry shakes, or Strawberry Quik!
  3. Have chocolate-dipped pink marshmallows and strawberries.

  5. Mix mini watermelon balls, strawberries, and cherries for delicious fruit medley!

BR u can find the paper lanterns in packs of three at the Target located near school. On kendall drive. They sell them in packs of 3 or 5 i believe and have more than one color. Hope that helps. I bought a couple for my mehendi Already!!!
