Re: Dhaba culture
What do you call those small cafes (don’t know what the exact word to use) run by Khan Sahabs where they have chai, paratha along few kinds of freshly prepared food and when you go ask and for the menu the server literally do freestyle rap for listing the items ![]()
Re: Dhaba culture
Re: Dhaba culture
but their food is good sometimes, what do you say?
Re: Dhaba culture
I drank dhoodh patti chenak, and paratah.... That was okay.
Re: Dhaba culture
I had sometimes when found noting at home and don’t wanna go far. I usually had parathas along with malai. ![]()
Re: Dhaba culture
.
Dhaba is something boofia/cafeteria n tuck shop ko mila kr jo bney
A dhaba is raste/highway mein open air bina walls k chota restaurant jis k khane mein dunya jahan ka kachra aur gird o ghubar mix ho
n jis ka khana b open air mein khana prta hai ![]()
I think boofia is arabic word n canteen ya cafeteria english word hoga ![]()
Boofias r same like cafeteria or mini restaurant, which serve sandwiches, beverages, tea snacks etc
I think middle-east mein dhaba culture ziada ni hai, uski jagah cafeterias closed mahool mein chalte cuz of cleanliness issues n laws etc
But I hv seen dhabas in Saudia, near Haram Makkah when I did Umrah
They have tea biscuits cakes dhabas
Also they hv dhabas after Asr prayer to Iftaar time in Ramadhan selling samoseys n pakoreys etc but udhr hi beth kr khane ka rujhaan ni hai ![]()

Re: Dhaba culture
app nichli society main hotay to uskay effects bhi pata chaltay
Re: Dhaba culture
Dhaba is less formal restaurant on roadside of busy highway and truck drivers are main beneficiaries..... Food is available on cheaper price while quality and taste remain mouthwatering(as per my assumption).... Dhaba is open kitchen, where food cooks on demand at any time.... I guess, it is 24 X 7 availability of food service....
In modern age, *dhaba *is getting popularity among urban population of major cities..... and transforming into family friendly.... What is your experience of *dhaba *?
No experience.

Re: Dhaba culture
Had dhaba food in balochistan. I was very young but I do remember looking on both sides and seeing no buildings. Just one tiny place in the middle of nowhere. The dhaba people had a minor freak out to see my family turn up and they gave us a private area by pulling out curtains. Sat on the floor and had a gigantic naan and maash ki daal.
Re: Dhaba culture
Dhabas are so famous that now you can find Yadavji ka Dhaba in Uttar Pradesh :D
Yadavji's ancestors might have died without knowing what Tandoori or Nan is :D
