desis n clifton

Re: desis n clifton

AS okay now you are exaggerating :hoonh: The smell doesn’t come in anyone’s house!!!

Re: desis n clifton

I swear it did. But the residents can't feel coz they are used to it.

Re: desis n clifton

Irem aka mahaburger, I am not from Lahore.

Re: desis n clifton

AS I live one block down the naala and sometimes I go to eat out almost right next to the naala kasam se it doesn’t come in people’s houses (the smell) You can only smell when you are standing exactly right next to the naala like five feet away. Sometimes when a fish truck passes by then you can smell the fish truck kee smell if you’re on the road as well. Lekin I dont think you can smell the naala in the appartments/houses there. They are a bit farther away from the naala for the smell to reach.

ahmadjee aka burgerPanay kee Inteha, where are you from? :stuck_out_tongue: I think you are from Pindi? I’m basically from there too, how could Pindi produce a burger like you :smack:

Re: desis n clifton

Irem, tumhain mera yaqeen nahin kerna to na karo but I am serious. I was over there only 2 month ago so my memory and that smell is still fresh in my mind.

Re: desis n clifton

:hehe: nai aisi baat nai k yaqeen nai karna, its just i never felt it but as u said maybe its jus coz i have been here so much

Re: desis n clifton

Since you mentioned that you live one block down the naala so may be your nose is also desensitized to the smell :D

Re: desis n clifton

Hehehehe

Waise naala or no naala boat basin rocks and you gotta admit that :jhanda:

Re: desis n clifton

to be honest, naala or not naala, any place that feels like home and makes u comfortable rOCKS! it could a house in korangi or hawali in defense. :p

Re: desis n clifton

Gulshen-e-hadeed? Nice place, just outside the city.

Re: desis n clifton

Its different in my case. Almost all the folks I went to school with in the U.S, were coincidently from Nazimabad Karachi. Even today, except a few individuals, everyone in my social circle is from Nazimabad Karachi. I don’t know whats up with that.

Re: desis n clifton

if u guyz have been watching Geroge Ka Pakistan, in one of his recent episodes he revelaved a very weird fact, that nearly 65% of the desis in UK are from meerpur..

Re: desis n clifton

That’s not true. They are actually from Clifton. He just can’t tell the difference from the accent?

Re: desis n clifton

hmm.. i dunno abt that.. but he was like , most of the ppl hes come across in UK, said that they were from meerpur. N thats why he wanted to visit that place in Pak. N when he went there in real, good gawd, even i was stunned, it was like visiting desi UK. Supermarkets had goods priced in pounds/pence n George was paid for his days labor in pounds. Everything had foreign attached to it from the signboards to the people walking in the streets.

I havent seen anything like that in clifton/defense, i am convinced UK is made up of meerpuris…

Re: desis n clifton

^ That show is so scripted that it is wrong to call it a reality shows I am sure those items priced in Pounds and pence in meerpur must be part of that script. Who the hell wants to sell and buy stuff in pounds in any Pakistani city?

Re: desis n clifton

It must be a desire to be seen as "cool" or "in". Dont understand it myself, I have always prided myself on not folliwng fashions and trends. I wear the same blue jeans everyday....:D

Re: desis n clifton

Same blue jeans everyday?? :hoonh:

Re: desis n clifton

Well ok I do occasionally alter them (for another pair of jeans)...but the point is i hate ppl who try and "impress" other people.

Re: desis n clifton

^ occassionally!!! :hoonh: ? … you unclean little thing! ..

Re: desis n clifton

To an extent I agree with Irem. There is relatively less violence in areas like Defence and Clifton. However, other areas are not bad to live in either.

There was a lot of tension and violence in other areas, but most of us managed to survive and I'm sure those who still reside in areas other than Clifton and Defence are doing well and surviving, alhamdulillah.

As for pollution, dust and dirt, it's everywhere in Karachi. I've been all over Karachi and you can't escape it.

Anyway, I feel I've come across many who like to lie and pretend that they resided in Defence and Clifton. Big whoop! I think one's better off telling the truth rather than lying because in most cases, you can easily tell who is lying and who isn't.

Karachi ka apna hi maza hai and it's nice to be in Karachi.
