Less violence in places like Clifton and Defence? Are you kidding me? These places are occupied by the wealthiest people of Karachi, so there’s no way for violence to be less common in these areas. Besides, most cases of robberies take place in posh neighborhoods like the ones Irem mentioned. I don’t know how security runs in Clifton/Defence, so I am guessing it’s easy to break in and rob poeple regardless. Almost all my relatives have been robbed once, or at least I was told so.. ..
If you are talking about firing and people getting killed, then I COULD agree that the high-class areas in Karachi don’t have that.
I couldn't agree with you anymore DHN. Karachi is really safe now when it comes to incidents of firing and murders but the numbers of robberies are at its peak. I was there few months ago and people are even scared to carry their cell phone due to fear of getting robbed. The posh areas are most likely to become the target of robbers. I have always heard that you can live like king if you have money in Pakistan but only thing that will be lacking is your security.
This is also true that there are lots of millioner memons live in Kharaader and old part of city just due to safety reasons. They don’t want to live in defence or Clifton because of the security concerns.
Thats a good point about to defense, true it is quite susceptible to robberies. Lots of houses are isolated and robbers are guaranteed that the family is going to be well off. Also, many people I know that live there had to have their own private security like some sort of guard.
