Word desi is used in Pakistan like

desi murghi

desi Unday and desi ghee.................all related to food. :D

So much for hoping I could somehow skip onto that particular reminder, but you're right, some still do use that to differentiate between broiler (sp?) and desi stuff. But hey, I don't eat them (desi ghee on roti rarely) hence maybe I could be spared from being called one? :D

Lol are you guys seriously arguing over the word desi? Who cares what the intention was, people now use it to refer to South Asians. Done deal. Now stop arguing.

Well we werent really arguing about anything, it was more of a discussion then anything else, or perhaps a simple case of exchanging personal views/opinions. :)
