Aisha…they should know how annoying they are being and that you’re not afraid or embarassed. I was at a salon once getting ready for my sister’s wedding and I’ll never for get this girl that was also there…getting ready for some other event and she kept staring daggers at me! I thought the flesh would melt off her face! I ignored her for a bit but then got sick of it. Why am I gonna feel uncomfortable because of some random stranger with a gawking problem? Aint gonna happen. So, I stared back and she actually held my gaze for about 30 seconds before looking away. The audacity! Oh if she could only peek into my brain to see what I not verbalizing…
LOL people, I am a female. I get stared at by other folks too, but it's the young desi girls that stare the most. It's not always the clothes because there are times when I would be out and about in a ghissi pitti jooti and some old pjs. I don't mind people coming up to me and giving me compliments/asking where I purchased a certain thing from. But I get extremely anxious when I see these girls staring at me for forever, like I have some sort of disease :(
I love the idea of staring back. Have never tried it before but I would certainly keep it in mind the next time I am in such predicament.
desi girls stare b’cos they must be admiring your beauty or what you are wearing
i hate it when aunties stare…it sends shivers down my spine…you don’t know where to look
we went to a park yesterday and my hubby and daughter were sat eating ice cream, a girl walked past us and just stared at my hubby… aur begharati ki hadd dekho she turned around just to have another look…he was chuffed but i was gonna go and punch her…
When a girl stares...wink at her. I promise you she'll look away and never stare again haha.
I guess its just the desi mentaility, youre either checking out what theyre wearing our who theyre with. The worst by farrrr is when your with someone of the opposite sex, oh my lord they could burn a hole in your face with their firey glare. And it could be as inncoent as it being your brother, which brings me to a hilariouuuus story. I was out with my brother last week shopping for a birthday present, when my mum rang. She was like Auntie 'blah' just rang me and said she saw you with a boy in town, HOLDING HANDS AND KISSING. I literally just burst out into laughter and gave the phone to my brother. The BS some people come out with is unreal! but yeah...desis are nosey, always have been and unfortunetly always will be.
...i** hate it when aunties stare...it sends shivers down my spine...you don't know where to look**
Urghh, I really hate that too, its VERY creepy.
Now don't laugh, but I have had this unusual problem of being singled out for stares by black men, and I mean they REALLY stare, and its very uncomfortable and unsettling.
ok i just came back form the mall and i was in the foodcourt having lunch and then I was not paying attention to anyone when suddenly noticed that an indian lady kept on looking at me. I became all conscious after that. I kept on eating but slowly slowly and everytime she would stare at me and i would catch her she would give me the biggest of the smiles and i was like hunh:S and thne after some time she got up to go and came to me and she is like “aap khatey wakt bohat cute lagti hain” and i was like jee? :S and then I asked her how come she knew I would know urdu/hindu and then she is like you have the most prettiest of them desi faces. Dil kar raha tha dekho kyonke tum khana khatey wakt cute lagti ho and i was all blushing and getting embarrassed lol… I realised that OMG i was just reading about this in the morning and it would become a good case study for this thread:cb:
