Re: Desi Fashion/Designers that I’ve stumbled across…
No i’m sorry I don’t have the full outfit pic this is a makeup shot for sabs lahore: Facebook
Maybe if you message them they can tell you more about what the model wore and who styled the shoot.
for the dress republic purple outfit i have no clue who the designer is but i can say it’s not “dress republic” If I do know the designers i’m pretty mindful of putting their name down and post pics by collection or the designer’s name is in the file name. Sorry that I couldn’t have been more helpful.
Re: Desi Fashion/Designers that I’ve stumbled across…
Earlier in this topic I posted pics from an IIFA Awards show that was held in Canada a few years ago. The designs were lots of loose white and black outfits with shiny gold borders, it really reminded me of some of the waseem noor outfits I posted and I’m not saying who did it first but if you liked what waseem noor did then you will definitely like naz fashion bug and their prices. Also I know from time to time Canadian posters are looking for outfits, this designer seems to be a great source for cute, vibrant outfits.

PFDC and Bridal Couture Week really ought to be spaced out more just because you can’t compare the two and who doesn’t like to see the heavy bridal outfits?Anyhow here’s more from PFDC:
Was anyone feeling Karma’s outfits the whole Dr. Suess thing just didn’t translate well to my eye what do yall think?

I must say that I really appreciate Sweet-Lil Hunnie for running this thread, its always a pleasure coming here and looking at those wonderful clothes. I wish I could also contribute but the stuff I usually come across is a already here, I'm just naturally late with Pakistanis fashion.
Re: Desi Fashion/Designers that I’ve stumbled across…
So in regards to my review to my outfit from catwalk in the bazaar forum well that went a lot of no where, she actually lied about offering me a replacement churidaar, i was only aware of that when she stated it in her last post on that topic here infront of everyone. I don’t know who she’s trying to kid by claiming she offered me that before and making me seem unreasonable bc it wasn’t offered to me before. Mods keep removing my comments on it and that’s not fair, if anything remove her lie or allow my honest retort to stand. So after what I went through I can confidently say that I would not place an order with catwalk because if anything goes wrong she won’t apologize as you can clearly see in the bazaar forum and her review thread. Anyhow moving on…
Houston recently had the bibi bridal show, tomorrow I’ll be checking out another showcase here in town and will share fb info and pics with yall so if any customers in the US wants to buy outfits from US desi brands hopefully they can. We need to start supporting our western desi designers too. I recently bought some jewelery from a vendor in the uk that offers better prices than desi stores in the US and a wider selection of jhoomers so I really have a lot to update with regarding western brands/vendors/designers.
I have to plug this one indian designer from Austin Vastra by
Lots of velvet lenghas are posted here and I have to ask the GS designers a question. You know how a lot of indian lengha cholis show stomach, is it possible to give a gs designer a pic of an outfit like that and tweak it into becoming an anarkali with churidaar? Looking at some of these indian designs reminds me of how figure flattering some of the styles are and how nice some of the sparkly outfits are. Red Paisley has some beautiful indian designs as well and i’m in love with this sea green jacket with a flowwy lengha: http://www.facebook.com/RedPaisleys
Also Islamabad Fashion Week 2012 pictures are soon to come. Here’s a little teaser. I will try to update yall with the latest fashion but here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come.
Re: Desi Fashion/Designers that I’ve stumbled across…
Another question I pose to the readers how do yall feel about pakistani fashion lately. at one time capri pants were acceptable, now sleeveless is all the rage… Would you be okay with a gown that showed a little leg, something similar to what Monica Haute Couture recently shown just in a shorter slit that stopped right below the knees?
Sarees were in style too for valimas for a long time, lots of girls were showing their stomach. Also since kareena wore the deep v back Manish malhotra now even paksitani outfits are becoming very low in the back… so since we have shown our stomachs, shown our lower leg, shown our shoulders are styles like spaghetti strap, one strap, sleeveless/tube top like or cocktail gowns with leg slits something that you could see catching on.
As a muslim woman how do some of you feel about the changing and un-islamic face of a lot of these newer fashion fads. How much skin is too much skin in regards to pakistani fashion in your eyes?

Re: Desi Fashion/Designers that I've stumbled across...
^^^ You can definitely turn the stomach baring designs into an anarkali or kameez - i got shyamal and Bhumika to do one for me and it turned out really well - it still had the look that i wanted in a more conservative style suited to my needs!
As for your question above about the increase in flesh showing - TBH each to their own, we all know what we are and aren't allowed to show and we all have our own individual limits. I wont judge anyone for their choices but hope people respect the mehfil in which they are in.
Personally there is plently in the western market for gowns which hare strappy, strapless etc so i look to pakistani designers for outfits which are generally more acceptable to wear within a Muslim/conservative environment. What is 'acceptable' is changing and varies drastically between communities but I prefer my asian outfits to be covered up!
Re: Desi Fashion/Designers that I've stumbled across...
hey SLH
Have you given thought of making a fb page with all these pics..it'd be perfect to be able to go and look at individual albums with the designers name...you've put in an amazing effort here...but its a bit of work to be clicking at each n every pic ...i think i have missed so many!! :/ or is there any easier way of going through them all?
