this topic was started almost 2 years ago, unfortunately I don't think that would work because i'd have to re-save all the pictures ad upload them to facebook. most of the time when I upload I save pictures to my computer and then upload them to paklinks and then erase the files I had on my comp as to not take up space. :( also back in 2010 I think facebook groups were just starting and now groups are really replaced with fan pages which are easier to navigate.

As for missing outfits maybe I should separate posts by designer or event to help readers out.

I agree with your whole post. Especially the part about how we have enough evening gowns to pick from as it is that shows shoulders, are sleeveless and so forth, I too look to desi designers to provide us evening gowns, or western influenced fusion outfits to wear to american weddings we attend. Same goes for like the company holiday party and so forth.

it’s a rabani and rakha dress, I put two bb’s on accident when i saved the dress :slight_smile: you’ll see that at the end of the url

Btw i pointed out belted sarees years ago on here, wore one as a bridesmaid in i think 2007 or maybe even later. It was a big trend in indian sarees at the time, looks like it’s trying to make a comeback and I love the concept. Still love rocking mine.

Born and raised in Chicago, Azeeza spent a few high school summers working with a tailor in India. Despite what most would assume, Azeeza has only been designing professionally for an extremely short period of time. She launched her line, Atelier AZZA, less than a year ago at New York Fashion Week. Since then, she has landed features in Vogue UK, Vogue India and The Wall Street Journal. Her college days at DePaul University were quite the opposite of her current life today though. Earning herself a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in marketing, Azeeza interned with Mayor Richard Daley in college and continued to work for him after graduation while slowly transitioning into freelance fashion marketing.

How many of my beautiful readers have missed this amazing fashion topic where we can all drool over beautiful desi inspired fashion? I sure have missed yall and to be honest the whole catwalk review thread left a very ugly taste in my mouth but after many private messages and emails from people I keep in touch with through facebook I have decided to re-start this thread and to keep it going.

So here’s a small teaser.

Yes I will post up pictures from pakistan’s recent bridal couture week in oct. I think by far Shazia’s Bridal Gallery did it again for the best designs. I really enjoy her line not because of her name but bc I like her work.

Also I came across India’s Tarun Tahilani’s 2012 Bridal collection and loved the vintage feel of some of his bridal shots so i’m sharing that too with yall :slight_smile:

tarun tahilani is my fav desi designer! his work is not so in ur face liek manish malhotra etc...thrz a old world charm abt his collection...almost regal!
