spaghetti, pack fo frozen veggies, boiled boneless chicken, and soy sauce. oh and chicken cut up into pieces and covered in breadcrumb and fried on teh side. :D

her parathay...seriously out of this world.

(No wonder I weighed 80 lbs at age 5).

I'd have a few tils I could love grinding off. Need the recipe, please.

Pathuray? Something to do with Pathar (stones)?

I've spent a couple of my summer vacations in a nice big house in santh/krishhan nagar but never did I come across Mr. Pathuray.

I don't like aam ka achaar or mirchi ka, but mostly with moong/masoor ki daal and roti, I like them all.

Re: Desi comfort food

Pathuray (th spelled as in thumaka)....a speciality of Gawal Mandi. They're like puris only thicker substance.

Re: Desi comfort food

Oh I could actually recall having one of those at some point of my chotee si zindagi. Perhaps something to do with basin. Not sure.

The thumaka did provide me with a few giggles though. Thanks. :hehe:

Apparently not.

Re: Desi comfort food

Oh I love love love Chana Bhaturas - and bhaturas are totally different than puris (taste wise at least). I won't eat puris, but bhaturas I can eat any day, everyday.

Re: Desi comfort food

oh right...it's bhatura and not pathura. Or may be in Punjabi it's pathura and in Urdu bhatura?

Re: Desi comfort food

i think phaturay are **kachauRiyaaN***...they are 'daal bharii' pooRiis...am i right?*
