No, kachori is to totally different than bhature, like you said, kachori is daal stuffed poori. Bhaturas are thick and do not have any filling in em'.

Catskin: It could be phaturey in punjabi? Not sure, but I have heard of bhaturey only, even at those Indian punjabi restaurants, I think they call it bhaturey. :) That's where I had it first and hooked on since (i have got a perfect recipe too, in case you want to try at home ;) ).

yeah, i know that because chhole bhaTure are my favourite too. :D i always try hot chhole bhaTure on Indian Railways on my first day of arrival in Delhi. i take the train to another city within hours of my arrival in India. :)
