Desi comfort food

Re: Desi comfort food

French fries with cheese, ketchup and mayo on the sides. Thats all I could make at 3am. Breakfast usually consists of 5 double roti's with 2 half fried in butter eggs with chai. Desi or no desi, I think I manage alright when it comes to getting rid of the tummy growls.

Re: Desi comfort food

Anda Paratha, Naashta is not complete without the doodh patti chai (any one ever had the anda gothala??)
Daal Chawal
Karrhi Chawal
etc.
now I am feeling hungry :bummer:

Re: Desi comfort food

Yes, do expand on this till ki chutni.

Re: Desi comfort food

yeah you lot just followed my era, thats okay, we probably followed the ones before us.

Re: Desi comfort food

shush…bun-kebab kaheen ka..

You guys haven't heard of till ki chutney?!?! OMG!! I guess it's just a Hyderabadi thing then! Basically, you dry roast sesame seeds, and grind them with lasan, hari mirch, hara dhanya, imli...salt to taste, and a little water..you give it a bhagar of sooki lal mirchi, karri patta & zeera...I'll have to dig out the exact quantities from one of my food journals, I'll post it once I find it...this chutney is a staple in my family..it's my comfort food, reminds me of my Ammi :(
