Re: Define Divine Love

This is not the rule of Islam. You will know when the time is right - It is right when you can control your anger when someone tries to annoy you. It is right when you pray salat without doing kaza. It is right when you don’t get distracted from remembering Allah. It is right when the Name of Allah (SWT) flows from your lips even when you are asleep. These are not documented levels - but these are the conditions of the great sahabis and generals of the past so if we want to be like them on the battefield we must first be like them off the battlefield.
In Islam we must know when we are under attack and know who to hit back and how … The best way to hit back the attacks of the media which are far more potent than the physical attacking is to use wisdom and good character to show how false their media really is. When we jump with rage they picture us and justify to their own that what they are doing with Muslims is justified. We need to be upright about this … jihad is not about hitting back - hitting back is taking revenge. Jihad is about doing what is right even when it is against our desire and self-worth. I would sooner die protecting my community whether they are Muslim or non-Muslim from a physical attack than believe that it is in any way justified to attack civilians.
And when it is not possible to fight back then it is still jihad to simply allow ourselves to be killed. This may sound strange to you but this is in the Qur’an as well. An oppressor can only oppress who are alive and can do his bidding. We should avoid conflict and the best way to show the higher standpoint of Islam is to give dawah.
