Cubs Vs Red Sox World Series

Sehar mediocre folks need excuses because they accept the fact that they are mediocre.

Faisal, in sports anyone can beat anyone on a given day. It has nothing to do with 3 azillion payroll or 4 cent payroll. Where as lesser clubs like Giants and Red Sox and CUbs find new ways to lose even after a $100 million payroll, Yankees keep on winning.

I do not find it a least bit strange that NY would expect anything else. :snooty:

Sehar, I really did not have any rooting interest for any of the teams in baseball playoffs. I started this thread fo rfun, however, I take exception to you calling Yankess success hard earned..."bought" is more like it. They have the means and resources to buy any player and raise the bar on the salaries of the players, which leads to unbalanced competition. Yes, they do everything within the rules set forth by MLB, but there is something about it that does not seem right. Anyway, GO MARLINS.... Yankess suck.

Kaleem bhai

I mean when you are on the ball field then I don't know how can something sound "not right". You win the games in front of the everyone. The fans, media, etc. you really think media would keep quiet if there was something "not right". Credit should be given where it's due. They are a great team, they have reliable pitchers, they have a decent hitting order. They play well in the field. They have a great manager who's led them to the post season many times in the short time he's been there. Go YANKEEEEEES!

Kaleem, maybe you should move to Cuba. I think the system there is quite advanced.

Fact of the matter is, free agency is here and ere to stay. What deterines the worth of a player? Supply and demand... Even before free agency Yankees were winning championships like they were going out of style...who was to blame then? 20 of the 26 titles came before the free agency era. Why didn't asstros, cubs, Red Sux win anything then?

the basic problem is ownership.. Unlike yanks, all other major ball clubs are owned by corporations. and to them winning is all about the bottom line. Dont tell me that cubs cannot pull off a $150m payroll, because they can. but they use that extra money on marketing and promotions.

In the end I think it i worth it. No one (except NY) likes yanks even though they always win... but every one likes cubs even though they always Lose. ;)

In any case I hope the CEO's at Wrigley can come to their senses and get some good offence and a respected closer in the post season + a catcher like "purdge" would help too.

Sehar, I agree that Yankess have a great manager, he is possibly the best manager that baseball has ever seen.

Matty, its not the free agency, its the way Yansk go about it. They offer so much more moneyto the players that other teams cannot compete. Yes, yes I know its still within the rules, MLB needs a hard slaray cap ala NFL. Only then we will have a level palying field, then we will see hwo really is the champ. Just for you matty Yankess Suck.:bukbuk:

SOunds like sore losers to me. If god wantd Yankees to lose..they would. But God himsellf plays shortstop for them. I think he is a bit biased.

Matty, you and I both know that Jeter is no God, god, Ram, Allah or Jesus....he is the most over rated plaayer that we have seen in this era. He is what he is...i.e. average to above average(some times) shortstop. Playing on the east coast and Yankess does not hurt either.

Who cares about MLB anyway, if they do not change their ways, this sport will die a painful and slow death. They have already lost their status as the "americas favorite passtime".

I don;t think Baseball will die as a sport. All sports go through this..Basketball went through and is still going through a crises of viewership and patronage.

Oh and Yankees are up 3-1..hahahaha :k:

Make that 6-1 hahahaha

Yankees overcame deficit, rain and beat the Marlins as they go up by one game in the world series - Game 3 should have been won by the Marlins as Josh Beckett pitched very tight - only Derek Jeter hit him thrice in the game but the Marlins bullpen failed to up held the Yankees.

once again RBI by Heidi Matsui made the Yankees to go up by 1 run at the top of 8th inning - and then the Marlins fall apart - gave 4 runs at the top of 9th shoo - a homer by Aaron Boon and a three-run homer by Bernie Williams - Mike Mussina pitched good tonight - after a long time he finally got a win - Mariano Rivera finished it off Marlins in a rapid fashion.

but IMO the main reason of tonight’s Yankees win over Marlins should be Derek Jeter who tied the inning the game when Yankees were trailing - and led his team right up from the front when he scored second run for the Yankees - true leader! :k:

Game 4 - it’s Roger Clemens vs. Carl Pavano - let’s see if Yankees try to held the series in their favor behind Clemens or will the Rocket unleashed his attack on Yankees?

:smokin2:

i have never been to NY(one day i hope to) but i have always liked and support NY Yankees - bottom line any team can have their fans outside the state or even country - and Yankees are the one who have always been loved by their fans not just in New York alone - true there are lots of Cubs and Redsox fans across the U.S. but they don’t match in numbers with the Yankees.

this year i was rooting for Cubs(the wild card) but they blew it - oh well better luck next time for the Cubs.

:smokin2:

Wow! Yankees just tied on the 9th!

Wow! 3 3

Re: Wow! Yankees just tied on the 9th!

woweeeeeeee zoweeeeeeeeeeeee :rotato:

Yankees lost it in the 12th inning - a thriller game tonight! series is even up!

it’s official - Roger Clemens pitched last time in his career - i hope he does pitch on Saturday night in front of the Yankees fans so Clemens can smile or feel some kind of warmth in front of his fans last time.

tonight he walked off as a hero - and the Marlins fans and team appreciated Roger Clemens with applauds - that shows how good sportmanship they have.

the game was definitely a thriller - in the 9th inning Yankees tied up with Bernie Williams triple Double-run - Yankees had more hits and base full in the 12th inning and over all game but couldn’t take advantage of it - and in the bottom of 12th inning - Alex Gonzalez who struggled throughout the season hit his first HR of the postseason - this is what i like about Marlins - they make a come back in so many different ways that you won’t believe it.

anyhow with the series is even - Game 5 is become even more necessary for Yankees and Marlins to win - it’s David Wells vs. Brad Penny - Marlins have edge there.

:smokin2:

That stupid Urbina guy messed things up for the Marlins.
The coach should have let the starting pitcher pitch in the 9th inning.

hahahahahahhahahahahahaahahaha good post

what do you do! they lost the game, the yankees did. Go yankees

Its going on right now too, yankees losing?
