What a game! unbelieveable - all great classic’s ends up in the Yankee Stadium - and tonight’s game was one of them - trailing by 0-4, the Yankees stormed back tied the game in the 8th inning - and then Aaron Boone who struggled throughout the regular and postseason hit the winning HR in the 11th inning - takes the Yankees to the World Series!
It’s awesome! this sets a great World Series match-up between the Marlins and the darling of the baseball ‘Da Yankees’
p.s. 1918, 1918, 1918 lives on ![]()

Fraudz, normally I dont get into these my team vs. your team thingies(especially because I dont care for baseball), but what was it you told me the other day about cubs slaughtering the marlins in the game the cubs eventually lost? ahem I need not say anything, but smile. big grin.
what a game…holy crap… the only words that can describe it were said by the home run hitter Boone…“This is stupid…” ![]()
Yankees win DAAAAAAAA Yankees win!!!
LIKE THATS GONNA HAPPEN
when i was watchin the game yanks didnt score..i was liek a bad vie for them.. an lo an behold.. wen i go downstairs .. thy start hittin so i sat down all by myself... so the Yanks could win..hey u ever know...

All the redsox fans in my house (inlaws) were peed off at me...

now letssee if we win the world series.. or im gonna have hell to pay
Yanks Kick Butt
well the curse of the bambino lives on… all the hopeful bostonians can go and weep in their pathetic corners :)… one can’t imagine defying yankee magic… how could the lowlife bosox even conceive the slightest notion that they will be able to take on the evil empire
… its just not the way it happens here in yankeeland… the yanks win with big bucks and live upto their everlasting expectations… btw i won 20 bucks ![]()

1918, 1918, 1918 :rotfl: - Cowboy Down Cowboy Down Cowboy Down :hehe:
World Series Countdown - it’s a 100th one!
Let’s Go Yankees - Marlins are a good competitive team - i expect a huge game from them - Josh Beckett is one of the best young pitchers i have seen - Yankees have to be really careful when Josh comes to pitch - it looks like at the moment he ain’t gonna pitch in Game 1.
I predict Yankees in Game 6/7 or Marlins in 7 - this World Series could go either way though Yankees have a edge over Marlins because of the experienced players - and mighty weapons - yesterday a loser from Cincinatti hit the winning HR for the Yankees - see even a Loser becomes Hero once he wear The Evil Empire’s Jersey!
Here’s what Mr. Jack Dowell think why Yankees will beat Marlins.
This World Series won’t have fishy ending
Rotation: New York
I favor the Yanks here for a few reasons.
The Yankees’ starting four of Mike Mussina, Andy Pettitte, Roger Clemens and David Wells have more total wins in their career than the Marlins have in their franchise history (858-797)! Plus, Pettitte has one of the best pickoff moves of all time. Wells is a lefty. Mussina is extremely quick to the plate and holds runners well. That trio will shut down the Marlins’ potent running game.
Bullpen: Even
Are two really good relievers better than one great one? That is the question.
One would figure that in the playoffs, if you are using your middle relievers too much, you are in trouble. And in my mind, Ugueth Urbina + Braden Looper = Mariano Rivera.
Infield: Florida
The Marlins’ infield and catcher positions have been more productive than the Yanks this postseason. Pudge Rodriguez alone would sway my vote, but Derrek Lee may well be back on track. Defensively, they are close to even in my book.
Outfield/DH: Even
Both teams boast solid defense in the outfield with similar offensive production. If the Marlins decide to DH Mike Lowell in Yankee Stadium, this may shift to the Marlins, but it’s too close to call.
Manager: New York
Joe Torre showed his experience and leadership by taking Clemens out of Game 7 against the Red Sox. Others this postseason have watched their studs falter late. He knows this team and has been there too many times not to get the nod over Jack McKeon.
:smokin2:
this time, the yankees got lucky
^ Lucky???? You are just sore... God roots for the Yankees. I have told you that before..it is divine will not luck you poor sap!!

hahaha!
Andy pitched a fabulous game…great atmosphere,yanks in Six. :k:
Godzilla strikes again! just when I was about to say when Matsui will show his magic - he struck tonight! the first Japanese to hit a three-run Homer in the World Series!
[thumb=D]capt.nyy14610200312.JPG[/thumb]
***New York Yankees’ Hideki Matsui, center, celebrates with teammates after the Yankees defeated the Florida Marlins 6-1 in Game 2 of the World Series Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003 in New York. Matsui had a three run home run. From left to right are: Aaron Boone, Derek Jeter, Matsui, Bernie Williams and Juan Rivera. ***
Yankees downed the Marlins by 6 runs to 1 in Game 2 - three times Yankees lost opener game and all three times Any Pettitte has won the 2nd game - Marlins had nothing going on against Andy Pettitte who pitched of one his best tonight.
[thumb=D]capt.nyy14310200304.JPG[/thumb]
the series is one game apiece - and is now heading to Miami - Yankees will face Josh Beckett - the # 1 pitcher of High School 1999 and currently one of the league’s best - he shut down the Cubs in Game 5 - and in Game 7 he took the air out of them - he is not that kind of pitcher who could lose his composure even in the hostile crowd - Yankees will have a tough time hitting Josh Beckett - i see Game 3 in favor of Marlins - and definitely pressure on Yankees as they have to play 3 back-to-back-to-back games in Miami - Mike Mussina will be pitching on Tuesday for Yankees and his record in this seaon ain’t good - Yankees have lost 3 out of 4 games when Mike pitched - good thing for Yankees is that they haven’t used Mariano Rivera - and he’s definitely be able to pitch on Tuesday as he got yet another day of rest.

Congrats to both Matsuis, this is the first time I ever followed Baseball, I started off supporting the cubbies, but then switched sides!!! Yankees!!! hehe
With Pettitte on the mound, I’m always a bit nervous. He has his really amazing days, and then he has his terrible terrible days. Mostly one of the two extremes…but a pat on the back for him for an awesome game today :k:
Marlins in Six :K:
Go Marlins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Add the SI cover curse to the list of curses that haunted cubs and sox. Pedro and Priot were on the cover either before or in the middle of the LCS's. After looking at it I knew, it will be Marlins and Yanks.
Although, I will love to see Marlins beat on the Yanks, but its not going to happen. Yanks in 6
Man, what a bad prediction in this thread’s title. It should be renamed, or something. Its been proven to be 100% wrong.
I missed game 2. Game 1 was fun. A $53m team kicked ass of a $160m+ team. Awesome sight :k:
For Game 7 with Red Sox, I was with a pretty big group of people, which included folks from 38 states. And the most remarkable thing is that other than New Yorkers themselves, there is no one else who would root for Yankees. Every one else roots for whoever Yankees are playing against.. be it Red Sox or be it Marlins. Its either that “root for the underdog syndrome” or “we’d root for anyone other than the pompous Yankees”. Any ideas? ![]()
^^ I agree, Yankess Suck.
Hold up!
You guys don’t like Yankees because your favorite team wasn’t good enough to get into the world series?
And how the heck are they pompous? You just can’t dislike them cuz they win all the time
It’s hard earned.
