Jack Mckeon is off the hook - the oldest manager in the league takes his team to the World Series - Congratulations to the Florida Marlins who came back from 2 games deficit and won the National League Championship Series - this is the second time Marlins have made to the World Series in 10 years! whoah! talk about commitment! - this is just amazing - these Marlins have fought back into the regular seaon so many times - and never lost an elimination game in the postseaon! First they eliminated SF Giants and now Chicago Cubs - Marlins have competitive division which have made them tough enough to compete in any kind of crucial moment of the game - as much as i hate to say this I’m impressed! - and ain’t no doubt whether Redsox or Yankees make it to the World series - they are gonna have tough time against Marlins - boy they got game!
As for Cubs and their fans - wait till next year pharse will never be so painful from now on - don’t even blame Steve Bartman for what happened in Game 6 - fact of the matter is Cubs didn’t come out great tonight as they should have - Kerry Wood failed to hold on lead - and Marlins just kept on going going and gone!!!

I still remember the day Cubs Signed Dusty. I was sitting in the bar with my friends and were discussing how it would change cubs fate this season… We were all convinced that this is the year of rebuilding for the cubs and every thing will start getting together as the season progressed. We were sure that this season will end with more wins than losses… We had a toast to the cubs and left the bar…
7 months later I was at the same bar watching the Cubs Marlin game tonight. The bar was same… but everything else had changed… emotions, expectations, crowd and ofcourse the price of the booze… Am I dejected??? YES… Am I Disappointed??? HELLLLLL NO!!!.. The truith is that I never expected to wear my Cubby T-Shirt and Cap during October. let alsone be one of the top 4 teams left.
Cubbies gave us alot more than just great October fun and memories… After a long time I have seen the city of Chicago come together and root for the same cause. Even my die hard Sox Fan friends were rooting for them. In the end we were all rooting for Chicago… we were no longer the loveable loosers… we were a force to be taken seriously…
After the ninth inning, we had our last toast of the season.. "to cubbies, to the fans who paid $2000 to see the games, and of course… to NEXT YEAR. For Once when we said “next year” we really truly meant it. We may have lost tonight but we have proved to ourselved that we CAN win..

no one expected cubs to get as far ..no one expected them to make it to the post season, let alone be in the NLCS game..I have the same sentiments, disappointed that they did not make it to the WS, but happy that they accomplished what they did this year.
