Crying on the wedding day?

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

As someone stated, the time is such that you cannot control your emotions no matter how strong hearted or jolly a person you've been!

LOL…:cb:

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

awwwh this thread has some really cute/touching and some really funny stories! I am my dad's fav daughter so I unno how its all gonna go down but I know I can NEVER see my dad cry... just thinking abt it is making my eyes teary. =(. Im prolly gonna tell my hubby because of u my daddy is crying so I guess we cant be together...cuz when I cry and get emotional I seriously don't know what I am saying. I would get in fights with my fiance and start crying and babbling and he'd just listen to me..not saying a word and after its all over, he goes "I know u r not in ur senses when u cry so I just let it flow cuz I know u will realize sooner or later that ur acting silly".
lol :P

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

I use to feel like crying before my wedding... but on my wedding I could not cry. I was just extremely exhausted and just wanted this wedding night to be over with. However, one lady started crying uncontrollably, and that just kicked in for me... so I shed some tears too... lol

I think after my marriage I have not cried for weddings.

I just think it's the uncertainty that makes you cry. If we all know ahead of time that our family will be just fine without us too - then it just makes it that much easier to move on.

As long as the makeup part is concerned. I have seen many brides cry & no makeup gets ruined. Even our makeup artists know that they have to do a waterproof job.

In my case I actually got more emotional when my brother & mother were walking me out to the hall than my rukhsati. It was so weird. All of a sudden I had tears in my eyes & I couldn't move forward & my brother as cute as he is thought there was something wrong with my lehnga & offered to hold it for me while I walk.

Rukhsati time I was pretty sure I won't cry. Coz we had already gone through the whole crying & being emotional thing at home once. But then when we were walking out my younger brother who is only 10 & is really attached with me started getting all serious. He would look at me & then look down. Then look at me again & look down. That really struck me hard & then when he hugged me I just broke down.

Funny thing is when I look at the video a lot of people cried that I would have never expected. Some of my younger male cousins even had tears in their eyes.

My best friend who happens to be Agha Khani was amazed as they don't have a Rukhsati concept & she has never seen a bride or her family cry before. For her it was a little to filmy.

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

logic works this way.those who are really close to their family and feel sad from being departed from them cry.
those who are consider that their life with their family was not worth it and the new life that they are going to start with their husbands will be full of enjoyment and would be like a ticket to disneyland dont cry.
simple

Me neither :)

i know! i mean, the man is CRYING singing his own song!

at my cousins wedding, it was decided that there'd be no sad rukhsati song, so no one brought a proper song to put on during the rukhstati (there was no DJ either, we were just playing our own CDs), so when it came time for the rukhsati, it felt odd that the bride was walking away and there was no music in the back, so my dad starts singing babul ki dua leti ja, and he is such an actor, he even did the fake sobs towards the end. the bride was LAUGHING the entire time, while all the aunties were gesturing her to stop haha..it was so funny

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

my mom cried for my nikah and i almost started only because i saw my mom crying but i controlled it.

I have a feeling there will be tears for my Rukhsati from my parents and once i see them crying i will start.

technically my hubby will be having the real Rukhsati since he has to leave pakistan and his family to come to canada.........so everyone kinda teases him about it...lol

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

**Actually it sounds weird but at my mamu’s wedding, my mami didn’t cry but my Mamu started crying :omg:

It was really AJEEB ! And we don’t know why he cried ! Lag raha tha ke mere Mamu ki rukhsati ho rahi hai.

:omg:**

lol soo funny!

my mum cries at anyones wedding, even when she's watching someones wedding film, she always starts crying at the ruksati.

i cried at my wedding, but my mum did'nt but she sort of fell into a deep depression after my wedding, she just sobbed and sobbed, we were on our honeymoon and she couldnt stop sobbing on the phone, my dad sent her to her close friends to "get away from it all"

My SIL none of her familiy cried, it was a bit weird we thought

I think that's maturity. Your SIL has full understanding and "accepts" the good turn of events that life brings.

People who cry are mostly people who are not ready to "accept" change in life.

Re: Crying on the wedding day?

lol some of these stories are so cute

i dont think thats entirely true, i think its personal preference in that moment.

my friend recently got married and ive known her since i was knee high, never once saw her cry, out of all my gfs the maturist, we never imagined her to cry on her wedding, however on her ruksati she burst into tears
