Creative "Bidh/Wedding Favours" distributing ideas

Re: Wedding Favors/Favours

^ i think wedding in pakistan are the most fun.

Re: Wedding Favors/Favours

^ it can be expensive sozankaar, but like with a wedding anywhere in the world, you either adjust your budget to accommodate or you go without. most people i know though, do try to work favors into their budget because its a nice thing to do and its how its done in pakistan- some traditions travel well, you know?

Re: Wedding Favors/Favours

does anyone know where one can get batwas if they don't have a connection in pakistan? I know someone who is getting married in Canada but would love to give batwas as a favour. are there places in the GTA that sell them? and I'm not talking about the organza ones that you can get on Ebay. I'm talking about the regular batwas that are from pakistan.

Re: Wedding Favors/Favours

this is cuuuute!

Chamak, my parents in law had a difficult time finding those batwas too for the Nikkah. I even checked all around Jackson Heights but didn't find anything. When's your wedding?

oh not for moi! it's for a friend who's getting married in the summer, so there's still time to search about.

ohhh okay, i was gonna say that if you need them from pak, someone from my family is going and they can bring them back for ya if you don't find them here.

Aww thats so sweet of you to offer Shay! I'm going to see if there is a way to get some in the GTA (I'll try Chinatown) before I say no to my friend.

Re: Wedding Favors/Favours

what are batwas???

Re: Wedding Favors/Favours

Creative "Bidh" distributing ideas

Can people share what are some creative way to distribute "bidh" after the nikkah.

What do you put in the bags? Where to get nice small bags in North America?

Thanks

Re: Creative "Bidh" distributing ideas

^ ive heard Ebay and crafts stores are good

I found some really cute little bags at Earrings Plaza on 34th street , they give u a discount if u buy in bulk..worth a try!

This thread should help: http://www.paklinks.com/gs/wedding/275787-bidh-shaadi-2.html

These days mostly people have been putting bidh in little boxes. they come in different varieties and are flat packed for you to make and put the bidh in - square, tube shaped etc etc. if you’re getting them from Pak you can have the bride and grooms names printed on them too. if you can’t get those, there are always the favour boxes which are readily available but will cost a lot.
or there are the ideas in the above thread - organza pouches (which can be bought really cheaply on ebay) and such.

dates, sugared almonds, nuts, those other desi sugary things etc etc are standard. and there’s usually jelly sweets (you can buy those dinky packs) for the kids and chocolate too.

Here are some creative favor (bidh) ideas..hope this helps
