I'm getting married in UK and my family is spread all over the world (as most asians are :D)

I am not sure how many people can maintain a wedding blog when they are running around doing stuff for the wedding.. plus.. I think the charm of surprise is kinda lost.. if everyone knows whats going on and hows it going on..depends.. how detailed are you in the website.. i would say blog would be nice.. giving short updates this way.. people who are really interested can follow up with you personally and also might help out..
I tend to usually go low profile when something big is about to happen.. better to be away from people's eye and do your stuff.. or you never know what might happen..:D

You could just create a website with your wedding pics/videos on there. Its simple and great for family members to access no matter where in the world!

thats the kind of website i was talking about. Like info about the day place and time of the wedding, who’s invovled, what hotels are best to stay at, pictures of the engaged couple, as well as the new families, info about wedding gifts.

I was actually thinking about vlogging and youtubing it. I'd probably want to remember it and it be a fun way to shoot things like going shopping and getting makeup amd hair done. Pictures can't capture that.
And when I do, I'm definitely letting you ladies know about it.

I think websites are a wonderful way to share the event with family who may be can not attend as well as provide guests with travel & hotel information, where all the events are, maps & that kind of stuff.
They aren't expensive at all - I'm really surprised how many services here in the US provide them (some even for free), all you need to do is chose the design you like & load your pictures & information into the format they provide & that's it. I don't think I've been to any weddings in the last couple of years where the couple didn't have a website.

we had a wedding website but its off now. it was both of our first names dot com.
its super easy to set one up, there are tons of services available and it can be super helpful for family and friends coming in from out of town and it is a great way to talk about registry information without being tacky or pushy so you don’t have to resort to “no boxed gifts please” on your invites!

i know couples who have created facebook groups or events for it, great way to share pics and updates, and people would get updated whenever they sign in to facebook!

I am designing/coding my own wedding website since i am from IT anyway..
But i would like to suggest - to prevent gate crashes and unknown people viewing all details in the website, you can make it password protected .. which is what I am doing..

plus im not having alot of events so i dont need to share too much info, it'll be on the cards!!
i just really believe in 'nazar', to show ure whole story, pictures etc seems too public, somethings should be left private :)
