wasn’t that terrorist dog sh*t Aqeel alias doctor Usman who was behind the attack on the GHQ and the Sri Lankan team released recently? what I got wrong I think is that the LHC didn’t release him. it was an ATC court. either way, the priorities are all wrong. the focus is on letting terrorists go free, banning facebook and going after the PPP leaders. at this rate, the courts are setting themselves up for a huge decline in their stature and respect.

All of us don’t hate them. But some of them do hate all of us.

You are putting together everything you don’t like in one sentence as if they are related. Some judges may be against PPP, but they are not letting go of terrorists because they love them. Nor did they ban Facebook because they are Taliban supporters.

TLK if the people of Pakistan want this why can they simply not switch off? What is the need for the courts to ban the site? Also how is this the court’s jurisdiction to reflect public demand?

Why can’t they empower their govenemnt to make a collective response to that which is, essentially, a collective assult on them?

Assessing public support is easy enough…a simple poll would do…I highly doubt public opinion would be far from the courts.

You guys living comfortably abroad don’t know it gets a bit ‘uncomfortable’ when people go out in the streets protesting against such things. It is definitely good that we don’t have to go that way after the ban.

I think there are several very effective ways to encounter this. Ofcourse we as muslims hate this act, but now to ban it is just like keeping our eyes closed. We need to respond, and respond very strongly. First we have to get our strong agitation recognized to Facebook for this. It should never be allowed. Then there are several other pages that you can open to advocate your campaign. Just be creative.
Now to start insulting someone else to counter this blasphemy is certainly not a good idea. Its not even amid the preachings of our religion for which we all are becoming sensitive to.
So just use your mind and agitate, respond, start other pages to show how strong you are against any such act. By bycotting FB or not logging is just like giving them a clean and open ground to let them do wutever they want.

I’m not talking about West but do you think if there is an illegal Bar in Pakistan so Govt. of Pakistan should not stop this activity and send some preachers to advise them that its haram, please don’t do this :nono:

Banning FB would be a nice idea because it would;

1. cut down traffic to the site, reducing advertisement revenue
2. increase productivity at offices and universities
3. increase awareness about alternatives that are not abusing your privacy.
