^Lahore is the capital of Punjab though, so aren't people from Lahore are Punjabi? Or do you mean that you're family is originally from somewhere else and shifted to Lahore?

Our weddings are planned out in a best manner making sure everything is awesome from food to decorations to clothes and etc... Spending money doesn't mean that we prefer tasteless weddings. Our weddings are professionally organized and people still talk about it until this day.

Nobody likes to waste money... It is just 1 special occasion where the groom and the bride wants to feel like a prince and princess.

I don't think I stated that spending money, in and of itself, is tasteless. I stated that some people spend an extravagant amount of money, have everything professionally organised and the result is still tasteless and hence, spending money does not always guarantee a beautiful wedding. My point was that people should not be so concerned about money.

I like your answer... However, money does play a significant part in quality.... Quality of gold, quality of clothes, quality of venue, quality of entertainment, quality of wedding material, quality of decorations, and etc.

Migrated to Lahore so I called myself Lahori. I don't speak punjabi. The extravagant wedding germ is picked up from there.

If I tell someone that all the wedding ceremonies were held in Hyatt or Marriott... These reputable hotels need to maintain their class and comfort... Quality does come with price.

Exactly that is my point as well. 15 to 20k…you can have fairly decent wedding as oppose to big kharcha. And this money i am talking about is from my mehnat…not borrowed from bank or even my dad. He did offer me..that he can help me out…and i know he can. But for me…i like to start life in moderate way on my own. And no jahaiz and all that stupidity as well. My older sis mehndi long time ago…my sister’s friend and us siblings decorated the mehndi stage…everyone was complementing us!. Same as when my brother got married.

I will give my whole savings to have the fairy tale wedding I want. It is just too special to me! Having the best photographer, videographer, venue, clothes, and etc… I am getting excited!!! I can't wait for my turn… Don't you girls dreamed about a fairytale wedding when you were a kid?

Did I tell you that my barat will come in ferrari? ok ok.. I won't tell you more details about what I dreamed of…lol

As long as you spend within your means and don't go into debt it is all good. For example for Tata, Birla Ambani a 10 million USD wedding would be within in their means and fine for them.

Except people shouldn't go on bragging about it, only thank Allah for it.
