ooh DB, don’t give up on the white dress! you’ll find something beautiful, trust me! and with a white dress, i would at most do cap sleeves or sleeveless with thicker straps- long sleeves just look bizarre with a white dress!

Okay searched for some sleeves inspiration pictures! I think you have an idea of the kind of puff and bottom you want, heres some pictures of sleeves to help you out! Will continue my search with more to come soon! I think the idea is awesome and would love to see the outcome but I think searching for a white almost seems harder than searching for a desi bridal gown. I love the idea of the capped sleeves like on the HSY dress.

No, not if you desify it with accesories, maybe added kaam and a duppata. I have seen many desi wedding dresses that could be worn as a western wedding dress too (notably from HSY). Is this for the baraat or walima?

I dont think so - especially since your hubby will be wearing either a suit or a tux right? You - as the bride will stand out more than anyone one else in the crowd. I'm pretty sure there was a thread out there recently where people were complaining that due to the fact that guests are wearing so much jewelery, and heavy kaam walay joray ... and even wearing the dupatta on the head - that its getting harder to tell who the bride is!!!
This is a sure way that you would be the show stopper - the bride.. the girl who is wearing something that is completely different from the guests.
And as others have said - if you keep the overall theme of the wedding more amreekan .... it would be really elegant. Everythign from the decor, color scheme, and the cake should match and go along with your dress.

Check these out too- Pronovias is very European in styling and just gorgeous- very sleek. And they actually make really pretty cover-ups. I think they’re one of the few design houses that pretty consistently offer that option or sleeves in some of their collections. And they do it better than other brands do!
