People here are acting like if they are only wearing burqas and going on the extreme level! If I want to find balance, people are not happy either… It is MY WAY or NO FREAKIN OTHER WAY… How about we work it together and make each other happy?..

If you have compromised his condition with tights/leggings.....and if he is okay with that, then what was the point of creating the thread?
Now if he is not even okay with tights/leggings and wants you to show skin...and is being stubborn about it, then you need to seriously consider the suggestions given and this rishta in general.

I have never came across a cool desi man like him :) .... All the other desi men just wants to look at other girls... lol ... Life experience teaches a lot... RV, I am moderate in beliefs not conservative when it comes to dressing.

i was quite moderate in regarding certain aspects in life and at the same time very conservative in religious affairs...i've become kinda more moderate on the religious issues.
after performing the Umrah, i am trying to be more mindful of things pertaining to religious beliefs. i can safely say i'm trying to better myself with temptations. so, help me God! :)

As we grow older, we tend to get more closer to Allah since we all know this world is temporary... A good balance of both world is necessary...

He does look at other girls. He had to look at you in order to pick you as the one to marry. He didn't "start" looking with you. Before he came across you, he was looking at other girls who were also da bombshells or close enough.

old age should bring in maturity and wisdom otherwise getting older is in vein.

That is fine BSB. I had said in my posts that as long as you are ok in wearing those things then it is fine. We all were just trying to give you our unbiased opinions and of course like Mezhgan pointed out it is up to you what you want to take from all the posts. I'm not extremely conservative in my dressing either, no I don't wear a burkha. I wear skinny jeans and short sleeves and what not but I also have certain boundaries that I wouldn't want to cross because I wouldn't be comfortable in it. Everyone has their own limits and if you are okay with changing them there is nothing wrong in it.

Being faithful and honest matters to me the most!... All the references I gave was when the man was committed to a girl and he'd still do ghuriya at other girls...

At the end of the day, I am the one who needs to decide... From my life experience, I have seen men checking out other women and oppressing their wives at home to not wear this or that.... Better to have a guy like him who is not forcing me. He politely told me what he likes which I didn't understand in the beginning. I am only going to wear clothes that I am comfortable in with dignity and try to accommodate his request.
So ur saying he will not look at other women if u wear short dresses. How do u think he came to the conclusion that he likes women in short dresses. He will be happy ur wearing them but still admiring whatever he wants. Aankhon ka parda is not dependent on what the other person is wearing. It may Infact be inversely proportional. Guys ho have a good sense of aankhon ka parda will try not to look at a woman who is blatantly wearing revealing clothing. And they might think it is momentarily ok agar regular dressed lady pay nazar parh gai, k he's not really staring but just happened to look in that direction. If u c a woman scantily clad u have to make a conscious effort to look away because u would probably give her an up and down, it's natural.

BSB posted a question, received loads of replies of varying viewpoints and found a solution she is comfortable with based on the variety of replies she received. I suppose one can never really be right here on GS. People are never happy with the outcome.

Kya pata She was really just wanting everyone to think looky here all u boring ppl have probs with guys making u cover up and my guy is so hot and well groomed and an immaculate bathroom user, and I'm also so hot (with ppl hitting on me all the time) and he wants me to flaunt it if I've got it, I have it all. No bathrooms to clean and no food to cook and just enjoy life in the amreeka. (Exactly how they show it in desi movies). I don't think anyone came up with the simple idea of wearing tights with a dress (which she hoped u dumb dumbs would come up with, so she could make u think u solved her life ka masla) so she had to throw it in there herself. Ppl stoP attacking me and makin either me or my fiancé sound stupid, that was not the point of this thread, now I have to clean up this mess myself!

Bsb, you have been living in amreeka for a long time. Are you seriously telling us that you have never worn a short western style dress with tights before? I've seen even the most conservative of hijabi girls go all out with knee length dresses on graduation dinners or office holiday parties. And you are not even hijabi, so...
