Concern about dressing

I know this is going to be a very controversial thing and may not be appropriate for some audience but this is a very geniune case.A very close relative of mine just told me that some very practising muslim lady told her that we should not wear a bra as it enchances your body shape .We should be wearing a thick and loose clothing that wraps around your sattar and we should wear a big chaddar to cover your chest.

I am posting this thread in all views as it is an appropriate section to disscuss things.

Re: Concern about dressing

So if we are wearing a chaadar anyway, why does it matter if we wear it. I just think it's common sense to wear it. Some people are too detailed for their own good!

Re: Concern about dressing

anything can be a bad thing if you make it to be. bras keep your chest in place. kapish

Re: Concern about dressing

Is this decree for women only or does it include men also? I guess wearing Speedo for men is out of the question.

Re: Concern about dressing

I think they should have a women's only section to discuss such issues

I am sorry it was not my intention but I was looking for some discussion

Thats what my views are.

:hehe:

But we don't need to go in detail about this issue just cover yourself and thats it. Why there is need of asking a question or delivering a fatwaa like not wearing a bra enhance your bodyshape.

Yeah and all you "ladies" could go there without the bras.

oh no I did not mean it in that sense. I have seen other forums who have sections especially for women. It was just a suggestion for the forum admin/mod

Out of curiosity who delivered this opinion or fatwa?

Someone from tablighi jamaat and I know they are pious people but there are somethings that doesn't make sense.

Re: Concern about dressing

why is tablighi jamat thinking about push up bras anyways ??..

Well it really depends on the context they said that in. I would ask for some references and not take it as a fatwa which is from a scholar and not something that every person can give no matter how pious or practising they are :)

Re: Concern about dressing

By enhance do you mean accentuate? I guess I dont get it supermom, you are being too way too careful with your words.

Re: Concern about dressing

^ yeah supermom, give TLK some more graphic details. A JPEG with push-up bra and one without will help him/her decide if this thread belongs in ALL or Life69.

Re: Concern about dressing

^^ LOL

Are you serious? Was this lady an A-cup? Cause in all seriousness B/C upwards and everyone needs it just for the support and to stop themselves looking behooda, regradless of the number of chadars you use.

I think thats all the discussion this thread needs.

Re: Concern about dressing

I dont think the tabilgi jamaat ppl meant it in that sense. They probably mean ladies who wear bra's to make their breasts look big(push-up bras). But if they said it as an overall thing, then thats like ssaying a men shouldnt wear an underwear? so yea, its really up in the head. But ladies, do wear a bra no matter what. lol its not halal to see your ornaments wingling around either. :/

Re: Concern about dressing

LOL - then that person might want to join the "burn the bra club"

Tell her - you just don't want membership in that club!

so funny.... the next thing someone will comeup with is - do we really need undies? The argument point being - we will ALL die one day and nothing will be left on us anyways!

GET A LIFE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bras and undies are definitely a must!

Who can ever find out if you are wearing a push up bra or any other bra - unless you are FLAUTING your bra everywhere!

I have never seen anyone do that - at least no one from Muslim community. Shameful for the person to even suggest this.

Re: Concern about dressing

I think she is just a feminist in disguise.

Might work for A and B cups out there but did she consider the elderly and plus size women and their back and neck and shoulder pain.

People are so funny seriously

Re: Concern about dressing

^No I think it's a man in disguise
