Lately I have been seeing a lot of ex mods and CM complaining about issues around GS and how all of sudden GS has turned into this god for saken place. There were a few open blogs and a thread as well.
For those of you who are thrashing the current mod team saying how inadequate they are at following policies, I have to say that things weren’t all rosey when you guys were mods. In fact a couple of weeks ago I reported someone made a crude comment in Life1 and the same person was having kicks with that comment because the said person’s friend made that comment.
Also, you guys have to realize that when you guys were mods and CM you interpreted the rules your way and were strict on somethings and let go of other border line things and the current mods are doing the same thing. They are trying their best to look at threads based on their best judgement and if you disagree then you are more than welcome to report those threads instead of throwing a temper tantrum in front of everyone.
Everyone who left the mod team left on their own terms and no one forced them to leave and now new people are runing things their own way and just like people dealt with the way things were run by previous mods … people have to get used to how things are run by the new mod team and I for one think they are doing an awesome job. Mods like Syraa, shak, barbie, maroush and nikki invest a lot of time in running this forum and for those of you who don’t like it can go suck it.
So my feedback is that you guys are doing an awesome job and keep up the good work

Libranz, thanks for the kind words. Current mod team is as great as any other team that we ever had. It is not because how intelligent or sharp they are (or aren't) as compared to any ex team member but its because they are as loyal as one could be. I can never pay enough gratitude to the people who take time out of their personal life and serve GS (in whichever capacity they have to serve), both past and present members of this team.
I understand that past is always glorious than the present and sometimes once we cross the fence over to the other side, we see the shortcomings that we cant see when we are part of the team. Having said that, I totally agree with you on the method of sharing the concern. Reporting posts is a great tool and a very effective one as we take care of the thread without getting defensive.

Now that aside, I find it funny how you can pick up on the thrashing yet you fail to see the threads where we actually complimented the mods and showed what a great job they did in generating traffic. Perhaps the way of sharing a concern is something that is of choice, but please don’t maek it seem like anything is a bitter rivalry or done out of spite or out of childishness…especially if you don’t know the half of it.

Its a perspective dude. no one is going to walk on your naqsh-e-qadam. That difference is what you are interpreting as incompetence. Do I act exactly like EB, not even close. But do you see EB throwing remarks like such at me. We all learn from oursleves more than we learn from someone else.
You I atually agree with your first line. Credit is due where it is due. Old mods did things right and I am not saying that didn’t do anything wrong and if it came out that way then I apologize. What I am trying to say that things weren’t as perfect as some people seem to think. As far as the traffic is concerned I was a mod back when a bunch of mods in cafe went off including you. That month the traffic was low in all of GS not just one thread. This included channels and threads where no mods changed so statistically speaking it was just an overall slow month but I do agree that old mods including yourself were better at generating more traffic.
You have to understand that some of the mods were mods for a few years if not months. You have to give these new people some time to adjust before going after them in open blogs and threads. This is just tactless and doesn’t do any good for anyone.
Buddy, I getchu. We never made ourselves seem superior nor did we want to come across like we’re mudslinging. I hope it’s clear that we don’t do that petty and immature thing of nit-picking or being spiteful towards ANY of the mods. Observation thi, one of the mods was there when we were there as mods and that mod is currently there…I’m sure mod skills can be picked up within a month or so…it doesn’t take Einstein to figure it out.

We can take the criticism especially when it comes from friends… and I have known you guys the longest on GS and I know you guys are genuine at heart! Despite many of the mistakes I made prior to and after becoming a mod, you guys made sure to write an appreciation note later on when we were trying to give it our best! you know i have been getting the feeling that users feedback doesnt matter anymore. You know i wud really stop whining if certain something i see wrong is put to right.Or i would really appreciate a reply telling me i am a out of my mind for thinking something which i am picking on is wrong.
Now if a whiny member doesnt get heard , you need to realize there's something wrong. It cud either be a member needs life as there are bigger issues to be tackled or a forum isnt run properly or mods/cms are at fault.Choice is yours. And believe me people who i think are doing a great job , i dont run after biting them and nobody is criticizing without a reason.
