mallikapoo, based on your name, i'd guess you are tamizh or even better, mal. if so, to get started, i'd suggest looking into traditional festive colors worn by these ethnicities. typically they are well matched with darker skin tones, and aren't going to get you the "painted bride" bias that you'd get from most of today's bridal experts.

Shocking pink and orange. I think combination of these colours looks great on dark complexion as well as on fair complexion.

hum i agree that the maroon red and ruby red will only make skin look darker since i wore maroon color lehnga on my nikah and i am medium light skin color it made me look darker so avoid marroon. I would say try the dark pink color that'll bring out the olive color skin tone or even pink with gold and green would be pretty.

please dnt select any other colour for ur wedding day ,b'coz agr dusra colour pehno ge to pata chal jayega ke ap ne apne complexion ki waja se different colour choose kia hua hai n it ll luks odd too ,if u cnt wear red then select any other shade of red like light dusy pinkish red or as u like but please dnt wear royal blue it wnt luks nice.
