When Ch.Iftikhar filed his challenge to the President's reference he put in his petition the following:-

The parts in Ch.Iftikhar’s petition against his fellow judges, especially the Chief Justice of the Lahore Court read like a real Pakistani drama show.

Even otherwise the Council is not properly constituted on account of the personal bias and the inveterate hatred that the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court harbours for the petitioner.

He has developed a strong and settled hostility towards the Petitioner which is widely known to members of the Bar and the Bench.

He has, unfortunately, not even been on talking terms with the Petitioner. Nor do they even shake hands.

to my mind, it would be more 'interesting' for the govt. laweyrs.

1. Govt. lawyers get to grill chief justice(only). Lets say he is posed 10 questions, Out of those he flunks 5. Thats -5

2. CJP can potentially grill:

3. DG MI

4. DG IB

5. Chief of Staff

6. Numerous people mentioned in the affidavits

7. Prime Minister

8. Honorable DG ISI

9. El Presidente

Now, if one would to go by simple plus minus, the opportunity for the defense to expose irregularities in the affidavits r huge.** A few hours into the filing of the affidavit and Aitezaz has already pointed out a supporting affidavit from one Bilal where he states that CJP should not hold rallies, he should not politicize the matter etc etc. And the date on his affidavit is 8th March. Amusing, dont you think?**

bhai jan, even if we accept ur argument for a minute, then why was police not there? Did they have a role to play in ensuring that the CJP not get away with his nefarious designs? Why did the CM and President not order an inquiry into the incident...in fact, they actively refused any and all requests for the same. CJP ka qusoor tha na sara...toh this was and still is a golden opportunity for the Emperor to pin him down for good. Not only send him home..but infact send him to the jail where he belongs, this goon of a man. Why not hold an independent inquiry and get rid of all the assumptions and ifs and buts? Can our good general not see an opportunity when it hits them in the face?

It's also fun reading the original petition by Ch.Iftikhar, because he has nothing but contempt and downright hatred for:-
- SC Justice Rana Bhagwandas.
- SC Justice Javed Iqbal.
- SC Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.
- Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Iftikhar Hussain.

With the state of relations between Ch.Iftikhar and his fellow judges is it any surprise then that we find out that he wanted them spied on by the agencies.

And a counter question too; Do you consider refusing a civilian aircraft belonging to the national carrier carrying over a 100 civilian men, women and children including foreign nationals as well as the country's serving Army Chief who is undoubtedly a symbol of national pride and sovereignty, being refused landing on Pakistani soil and being diverted to 'anywhere but here, even India' with limited fuel remaining, an act of treason, attempted murder, massacre, genocide?

That may be a criminal case for endangering the lives of the passengers, but it certainly ain't treason...and the former charge could only be entertained only if it could be proven that the diversion to another airfield could have lead to the passenger safety being compromised...as a head of state Sharif had all the right to divert landing to any airfield he so chose, on the security ground and to prevent and illegal/unconstitutional coup, given the diversion did not lead to passenger endangerment...

the problem is with the chief justice or the judgment? if the judgment was wrong, then how come u support musharraf and indirectly a wrong judgment. If the judgment was right and still the judge was wrong, how come u were silent all these years?
