"Sharamnaak" proceedings of the contempt case today. Chief Justice says 20000 cases pending therefore can't prioritise IKs petition for scrutinising elections in four constituencies. That's another thing if PMLN puts forward a petition the decision is announced in one day (presidential elections).

Nothing, next hearing would be on 28th. IK has been asked to submit his reply by that date, the CJ wants an apology. In other words don't criticise the judges, let them do as they please.

He sure didnt waste any time bringing this silly contempt case to the top of the pile. Goes to show that this is Iftikhar Chaudhry's ego at work....not brain.

When you look at chief justices of other countries, you find them hearing cases that impact the whole population at large…like healthcare, law and order, democracy, voting etc.
When you look at Pakistan’s chief justice, his docket is filled with cases that affect him personally. His priorities are all messed up.

CJ ruined his own case, the respect he had earned by standing up against Mush and by taking up some important cases like missing persons etc. Even though i believe imran is an outspoken person sometimes a bit too much, but there was no need for SC to take it to this level.
it actually helped PTI further its opinion about elections and selective justice.

I kind of find it hypocritical on part of PTI & people who are defending IK and accusing CJ of being biases. The very same people who were defending CJ’s shenanigans when he was going after PPP. The CJ forced out elected PM based on unenforceable and illegal order & people were cheering him on. What has changed now?

You do realize the difference between the 2 instances, dont you? Yousuf Gillani was protecting a criminal, and refused to budge despite reminders. The drama went on for 3 years. Basically, Gillani intentionally sacrificed himself to save Zardari.
In comparison, Imran Khan practically said nothing that would classify as contempt. Even his opponents are up in arms about CJ’s notice.
Or wait, maybe he did say something…oh yes, ‘sharamnaak’.

Yes, of course, I do. What is good for goose should also be good for gander. The CJ was a good guy when he was going after PPP, but he is a bad guy when he going after PTI.

I dont see how the 2 scenarios compare. Gillani was guilty of obstruction of justice, and then refused a supreme court order for which he was bound to be held in contempt. Everyone knows that much law.
On the other hand, Imran merely made a statement referring to the shoddy elections. Faisal Raza Abidi has frequently used almost abusive language for the SC and CJ...but he has never been called in court. Goes to show that making a statement is anyone's right. Following a court's judgement is mandatory....but questioning the courts judgement is not a crime.

Good and legitimate observation. In those days nirale did not know that CJ belonged to PML(N). They were only watching ‘tamsaha’ of PPP PM. CJ then was a good guy because he was after after PPP violating the constitution. Now that same CJ issued contempt notice against IK, he suddenly became bad guy for nirale. However like before this pML(N) CJ was wrong then he is wrong now.
IK has changed his stance and says that he was criticizing EC only. He should have stood by his words rather than changing his position, which again shows that he is immature and not ready for politics.

Gilani was working under constitution of Pakistan, which should have been respected by this corrupt PML(N) CJ. What Faisal Raza Abidi said was the truth, CJ has no balls to face the truth in public. He knows that he can twist the arm of IK and get an apology to embarrass him in public as advised by his PML(N) bosses, hence this uncalled for contempt notice.

many PTI guys are bringing Arsalan Iftakhar case in here to discredit CJP, probably they forgot what was PTI/IK’s stance on that case.

Waise 2013 general elections waqai barey sharamnak they, jitni rigging returning officers (RO) ki level pe hui hai, shayad hi pehely kabhi hui hai. Aur jiss tarah k sawal candidates sey ROs pooch rahe they, ussi sey inn judges ki IQ level aur zahanat ka pata chalta hai
